Hi guys

Basically i am looking for someone who has experience with this level 4 turn key package, or some advice on it.

I dont want to spend forever looking for parts so this kit looks good to me, but is it?

Does it really have everything i need to get my DC2 running K20 powers?

I was talking to Henry at Triple H about it and he says it sounds like a good kit, the only bit he cant see it having is the charge loom to get that working?

Also if i get this kit what do i need to keep from my DC2 engine bay and what do i need to get from the EP3, obv engine, box, loom and all ancilieries, but do i need wee bits like fusebox and things like that?

Thanks for anyone who answers in advance.

Darren. :)

Yeah finding used parts will be a lot cheaper... BUT it can take ages as there isnt a lot about. I found a person breaking a k20 ek so it was done all in one go.

But make sure you do research and make sure you have set your budget correctly. I'd say add up cost of everything then have at least 1k on top to finish it off.. as there will ALWAYS be complications...

I've seen the turn key option and it seems good but things quickly add up when you upgrade the parts that you'd want to... such as kpro.. 2.9 swap shafts etc. Plus you want a dc2/eg subframe which is around another £150...

Edit: just realised you will be fitting it to a dc2 so you'd already have the subframe..

Ahh i see, well you see the way i have done it is

Purchased teg for a good price that had

B16a1, ek9 box, ITR inlet mani and other bits and bobs and from selling that it funds the k20 engine.

Then i purchased a ek4 that had some nice bits on it for cheaper than usual to break for parts that would come to 2500 for the swap. So in reality i bought my DC2 with a K20 really, then with the profit + how much i payed for it i dont feel like its cost me that much,

There is a guy who has the conversion harness and mounts, but then i would still need the fueling system and shifter conversion etc

Just seemed like a really good deal that level four.

But with that being said, other than price because i could wait and do it cheaper, is it a good buy?

Thanks for that mate, i am going to pick up the engine conversion so is it the charge harness from the ep3 i need? do i need the ep3 fuse box?

The shifter is going to be coming with the swap in the form of the no cut shifter box.

No you wont need the fusebox from the ep3.

And if you are paying extra for a no cut shifter then you wont need a dc5 shifter box. I dont remember there being an option to upgrade to a no cut shifter though in that kit..

@darren-godfrey Take it you bought Ryan's DC2? That car was a good base for a project like this.

Maybe the likes of Automek offer a drive in/drive out type service where they sort a lot out for you. I know PerformanceTek did this.

@Saqib yeah mab i did, i seen it in a few pictures and went to see it after viewing 2 rotten converted ej9s, bought it the wqy it was without the bride but i eant lightweight buckets anyway lol.

Yeah automek probably do but i dont want to pay someone labour tbh, i like taking it slow and posting pictures etc, cant really afford £100 an hour labour tbh :(.

I was a acctualy wondering that @Ernie gonna phone and ask.

Automek are £40 + vat per hour for labour IIRC

I must have been ill informed then it appears. Hmm.

My other option is a boy on facebook who has the swap mounts and harness, there not used just second hand if that makes sense, if i bought those are there any other real things i would need to worry about other than the shifter?

I can use the ep3 rad
Ep3 shafts if joined with my teg shafts

Is that it really?

Also if i am looking to make this guy a offer hoe much do second hand k swap mounts and a engine harness go for? The more i look at the htune kit and listen to you lot the more i realise i can do it for less and then used the change for upgrades and the sump sugested above.

Price them up new and make the guy an offer... I'd buy an engine with the harness on myself.

What mounts are they? Hassport etc...

The hardest thing I tried to source was shifter cables. No DC5's or any kswaps were being broken at the time so I ended up going with a set of K-tuned shifter cables

He has Hasport engine mounts and K tuned wireing loom, i offered 400 he says he is looking for 450 the mounts alone, didnt think they would be as much tbh.

You'd be paying that brand new for mounts so dont bother. I paid £250 for mine.

Yeah I paid £340 for my mounts new and £160 for my swap harness new...
These swaps are certainly getting more realistic to do with out blowing big bucks,
Did you buy the mounts from USA or uk?

I think i am swaying towards the buying bits seperate.

Does anyone know why the drop down menu asks wetger its k20 or k24, are the mounts different?

I think so as the block is taller... I know you have to use a CRV timing side mount bracket when you run K24.
