Car is currently at the bodyshop and I need to go down this week and remove the carpet from near the firewall as he doesnt want to weld with the carpet there.

can anyone talk me through where it attaches and what I need to remove to pull it back?
Ideally I'm hoping I can just pull back the front without removing seats/dash etc - I'm guessing the lower console/gear stick surround needs to come out but if someone can talk me through exactly what I'm doing that'd be great so I'm not crawling around for hours in the bodyshop trying to do it ha

:nice:

Centre console, gear surround, foot rest. ECU cover and the one on the other side.

I think you'll have to take the sill panels out too.

They're big plugs that hold it in. Some are screwed, some pull out.

What you having welded for the carpet to become an issue?

well that sounds like a mammoth job for such a small thing lol

jesse he's worried about the sparks I think, nothing is actually on the carpet, but theres holes above it im having welded up

It's really not that bad to do, it sounds a lot worse when you list things , it's just a hand full of screws a few bolts in the metal work behind the centre console and the plastic plugs,

If you just want to pull it back a bit it's probably going to take you about half an hour
