Nicole's turbo black ek9

You are roughly where I'm with my build, although mine is a lot more "function over looks" sort of thing. The dishwasher idea is awesome, I've decided to turn my old B16B block into wine holder so I'll give that a bash! I completely understand how a small build can quickly escalate, mine started as a simple engine swap, and I'm removing the subframe today....

Mine started with the idea of a simple swap! Now been accumulating parts for ages for a high comp B18 lol. How things get out of hand hey... :troll:

I'm feeling very car-less atm. Bottom end is still at engine builders and car is still at bodyshop :(
in the meantime I've been getting carried away polishing things pointlessly..

Half way through - can kinda see the difference. Cleverly didnt take a before :D

heads built up ready for bottom end to come home, then everythings ready to start going back in once the brake lines and fuel filters been moved.

Looks the part, what you polishing with?

just wire wool, many different grade sandpapers and autosol! i've tried with a dremel etc, but nothing seems to beat doing it by hand!

Looks very good. Looks alot more original then a sprayed one

yeh, I bought my block painted, but I think I'm going to polish it tbh, something really artificial looking about a painted engine, really like the look of the bare metal :)

went to clean my gearbox at the weekend, and ended up getting a bit carried away...:run:
someone needs to give me my car back to play with to stop all this polishing haha
really wish I hadnt started it, its a HUGE task, but its definitely looking prettier :)

Plenty of effort girl!
You going to want to track this car when you've finished?

Haha lol. Its true, are u really going to throw abuse at this pretty thing?! But i guess when u done its gonna put u in ur seat! Looking good dough, defo alot of effort paying off

haha I've had a lot of people ask if i'm still going to want to track it!
I've always said I cant see why you cant have both. I take a lot of pride in how my car looks (probably the girl in me) but I don't want it to be a show queen - I bought it to use it, and thats what I'll keep doing.
I bought the car, 2 weeks later it was at the bodyshop for practically a full respray then 3 weeks after that it was on track :) my front bumpers wrecked. but a taxi reversed into it and the stone chips are from motorways/b road blasts with mates. Obvs if I was to bin it, it would be wrecked, but I dont see why track cars have to be dogs :)

Just hoping it manages another year with as many track days as I did this year without going bang! o_O

plus, I'm just making my engine bay pretty as the engines out and it makes sense - no blingy wheels or exterior mods etc :p

Savige think its class how u have the car good enough to be on a stand in a honda garage yet ur not affraid to throw it into a corner at speed respect

Great work on the car so far, I have a lot of respect for people who have a go at doing anything on their own cars and then using them properly on the track

The best way to learn and enjoy what you have achieved

Car is looking awesome with the fresh paint and matt bronze wheels btw

Are you getting valve guides Nicole? I measured mine last night on my project engine and they are wellll over spec for wobble.

The valves stems are fine. I won't change them.
