Hi everyone :)

I am currently doing a B18c swap into my Jordan. The engine is out of a 99 dc2.

I have a S80 4.4fd out a 96 dc2.

I was wondering if I got an OEM 4.7fd would this fit straight in?

I am also considering in the future a MFactory longer 1st gear, would this effect anything ? Bit of a noob when it comes to gearboxs tbh :(

Will make the box shorter.
Basically be a 98spec dc2 box then.
I have a 4.7s80 I could sell you or swap for the 4.4 s80 you have plus cash, need to swap the LSD out of it though because I want to keep the plate LSD,

Why do you want to change from 4.4 to 4.7?

Makes it shorter for better acceleration :)

It will make the box basically like a 98spec S80 with shorter 4th and 5th as 96spec S80 has same 4th and 5th ratio as S4C. Unfortunately my engine and box goes in this weekend so wouldn't be able to swap. I could be interested in buying the 4.7 fd though if you ever want to sell that.

Sorry mate, I need a complete box for my car. Only thing I could possibly do is sell the whole box minus an LSD.

Using an OEM DC2 4.78 final drive and swapping into a 4.4 box you also need the 4.78 mainshaft and the 1st gear to match

If using an MFactory 4.7 final drive you only need to change the final drive ring gear on the LSD and the mainshaft

There is no need too change the vss spindle on the b-series boxes

As above. Only reason to change the gear on the vss is with aftermarket LSD

Building up my box this evening its a 4.4 s4c, ive got a 4.7 from dc2 box with first gear but looking at them i cant see any difference in the first gear, why does this have to be swapped out?

You'll see why when you go to try fit the S4C 1st gear to the S80 4.7 counter shaft ;-)

As Aonghus said ^^^ the gear won't fit the 4.7 counter shaft this is why vendors sell the full 4.7 FD kit with the 1st gear to match. I fitted the 4.7 FD in my old EK9, good upgrade from the 4.4 which made it easier to stay on vtec between gear changes

Im installing the 98 spec dc2 s80 4.785 final drive into my 96 spec dc2 s80 box.. the ek9 s4c and 96 dc2 s80 are the same box there is no difference in gear ratios.. not sure about the none lsd s4c though. I don't understand why you need first gear or spindle for the vss
