Literally the only thing I don't love about that car is the b18c4.
Enough to ruin it for me tbh.

Makes sense to turbo a c4 surly??
Does make sense to use a c4 for a boosted application.(if stock blocks are only option)
Just don't think you should put one in an ek9.
Massively devalues the car in my eyes.

I agree with you, but then again modifications in general will devalue any car.
I don't think it would affect me if I was looking for a Turbo 9. Seems a sensible way to save money without cutting corners. Although I would definitely want to know about the history of the engines used in the car, and why the c4 was chosen in particular.

Yeah sure enough most mods devalue a car, but most mods can come back off again, can't get the original engine block back.
Not forging the block is cutting corners unfortunately. I tried it and I'm paying for it now.

Yeah, the sensible thing is to keep hold of the OEM parts so you can put the car back to standard if you wanted. Although you will still be loosing money on the second hand aftermarket parts.
Maybe not forging a block is cutting corners, but forging a B18c4 over a B18c/16b, theres nothing in it really for turbo application.

I'm a lover of the B16b anyway, so I would only ever buy an ek9 with standard engine in it! :))

Yeah a forged b18c4 is acceptable in my eyes lol
Only reason I used my b16b block is because I blew the engine up and it was there.
Keeping the stock engine number with the car is just an added benefit.
Only way to help with the cost of aftermarket parts is buying 2nd hand, then technically you should be able to sell for similar money you bought them. Getting off topic now though.
This cars a beauty!

Nice to know

It's a forum you knob, they can say what they like:nice:

He's just disappointed some people realise he's got a 2nd rate engine in his ek9...
The fact this has been pointed out and why has gone against his possible sale, so he's trying to fight back. Sounding like a fool in the process, further effecting his possible sale...

I'll point him in the right direction now, steer clear of this man and his car. His attitude is easily enough to put me off of buying his car, he owned it literally a week and it was up for sale again, that raises suspicion to me.
Plus the engine is from an old civic wagon beater.
