EG6 pure track toy joy!

Man this is awesome. Do you have any video from track? Did you have a chance to put it on the scale?

I have some footage from the track but you can't see much. The camera position is poor all you can see is the rear view mirror really. I might put together to footage of my hounding a M3 racecar as we were pretty close so you can see a bit.

I really do need to get it on the scales. Should deffo be around or under the 900Kg mark.

Also I have a small update!

After breaking up my mates EP3 and trippling my money I excitedly picked this up on Saturday, a nice (hopefully) 76k B18C6!

Going to be giving it a full service and a good clean up, also de-gunk and respray the engine bay before fitting soon.

I aim to be sorted by April including finishing up all the rear end rot.

Garage is starting to look like a proper little engine workshop now :)

Finally put together a short clip of my last track day in December last year;

I love this. Looks so cool! Do you mind me asking how you made/bought the tyre stencils?

Made them, just worked out the correct size on MS Word, used the stencil Font which I changed slightly when I cut them out and that about it.

You really need a spare set of hands when spraying the tyres to hold the stencils down properly which I didnt have at the time.

Been cracking with the arch over the past couple of weekends.

Sanding & prep sucks. I haven't got the patience for it but giving in my best this time!

Just finished the second coat of primer now, will probably go for 3 or 4 coats and start wet sanding. Can already see a few spots that require a little more filler though

Also inbetween waiting for things to dry Ive been giving the new lump a clean up.
So from this;

To this;

The back has come up real nice but the front has a real rough texture. Now sure what it is or how to clean it up. I dont want to start sanding it all off!

Oh also bought a bloody big chop saw for future metal working duties :D

Been cracking with the car, sorry for the lack of updates. Mainly been getting myself race ready - Nat B License and getting suited and booted.

Also going to try an different approach to updating my project, erm yeh, so I'm at your mercy!

See below, would love to hear any input on how I can make it better for next time!

Nice work with the video mate,
I would advise coating over the stone chip as its not really a great top coat, it's really designed as a hard wearing undercoat.

A quick drying enamel (qd enamel) would probably be ideal to brush on over the top

Thanks matey, appreciate it. Proper cringey to watch yourself haha.

Yeh it is over paintable, will look into it. Can QD enamel also be used straight onto primer without the stone chip?

Great work on the car and the video

I know where you are coming from with having your own garage to work on the car and leave it in bits and not having to worry about weather etc especially doing bigger jobs in this climate. My car spends more time on axle stands than on the ground

You could always try the Por-15 products for the underside of the car, they seem to get good reviews and should give a really durable finish, I have seen people applying por15 with a brush which can help make it easy to apply without having to cover too much up. I ended up painting the whole interior and cage on my car with gloss grey boat and bardge paint using a brush and the finish is very good

Keep the updates coming

Yep, it's really just an industrial multi purpose paint, quite universal. I used it to freshen up my inner arches on the ek9, I've used it to paint suspension components,fuel tanks, brackets etc In the past, It can be sprayed or brushed on and is fairly cheap

Just watched these all, really enjoyed them! I like the backing tracks, and how you keep questioning yourself like the "arse" thing haha.

Keep it up dude, good work!

Thanks man, really means a lot :)

Will be going home again next weekend, hopefully get the old girl race ready!

Awesome videos. Quite refreshing to still see stuff like this. Gives me much needed motivation to work on my own car.

Keep them coming.
