Jesse888 Forged/stroker turbo ek9

Keep an eye in crankcase pressure causing oil leaks, you have a vented block and rocker cover dont you?, that should be enough. Good luck to you mate it will be worth it soon enough!

Yeah I've got two on the cover and two in the block. Hopefully it'll calm down abit with some more miles.

Good stuff!
The filter material and sump plug look pretty clean really, nothing abnormal to worry about there by the look of it,

The rubber flap in the filter is to stop oil draining back out of the filter (to help reduce cold start oil pressure build up time)

Where did you get the battery and cage from?

Ahh that makes sense about the rubber in the filter!
So the engines pressure will push this back against the spring inside? When no pressure it pushes the filter shut to keep the oil inside?
Glad you think it's all normal, I've no experience of this as its my first build.
I got the battery and cage from ebay, wanted a cheap solution to moving the battery and I'm really pleased with it so far.
It's sat completely flat for a good 3 months, afew hours charge and its as good as ever.

Yeah one way valve type of thing, cheap filters don't always have that,

May look in to one of those batteries for mine

Yeah I can't knock the battery tbf. I don't have any accessories though so not sure how it will handle sound systems or alarms etc

The filter will have a bypass valve in it as well so if the element is blocked and pressure builds up it can flow and bypass the element

That's a good point, and a good reason not to use the shortie, it has less surface area to filter the oil through so will be more likely to bypass more oil

Yep, will be getting afew full length filters. Will swap this shortie out after 100miles and see how it looks, replace with full length for time being.

Full size hamp filter ordered along with some Hardrace roll centre adjusters. Heard they do wonders for the steering on non PAS cars. Not that mine is that bad now I've gotten used to it.
183miles total as of today and still no explosion or instantaneous combustion

Let me know on the Hardrace Roll centre adjusters. I need to get to the gym more for my steering haha

Yeah will do, they are abit cheaper than the buddyclub ones and not sure j trust the tegiwa ones just yet.
I rate hardrace stuff anyway so logical choice for me.

Awesome dude bet its nice to have it running tidy, be even nicer once its run in i bet

Got my large hamp filter and roll centre adjusters today. Will stick the filter on after work tomorrow. Done 220 miles on the engine so far.

Romain put a low boost cut and Rev limiter on the ecu.
The most I can get without it being cut is about 0.2bar, but I can't get this and full throttle at the same time.
I've been trying best I can to get some positive pressure into it. I've been spooling the turbo and then lifting just at the point before boost cut. Also have afew long hills on my trip home from work so I try and hold the pressure as high as I can while the revs rise.

Engine sees 5k rpm(Rev limiter) and as much boost as the ecu will allow me everyday. Hopefully what I'm doing will be enough.

Full size filter on. Took apart the "old" filter nothing too report about that really.
Constant on and off throttle is killing the mpg lol full tank to 200miles so topped the tank up with fresh Vpower ready for more miles.
Engines now on 283 miles and looking good.
Had a scare in Halfords carpark earlier, went in to get some CW mixed up in a can for my new cam cover, came back to see a line of fluid running to a drain from under the car. Had a look underneath and can't see anything so must have parked in someone else's oil slick lol
Have parked it on a clean spot outside my house so will be able to see for sure tomorrow. Haven't been leaving puddles anywhere else that I've noticed so probably from someones vauxhall.
Looking to do 500-600 miles on the break in oil then switch to some semi for another few 100 miles. Probably round it too 1k miles then get it mapped.

On the look out for a recaro SPG of someone sees one for sale 2nd hand, project splitter will see an update soon aswell.
That's about it for updates. No pictures because the cars a state from driving in this weather, needs must....

1k miles before getting mapped?

Your as good as ready now I reckon by the time you travel down to get it done. If the rings have not sealed by now then they probably never will

Romains recommendation was 500miles on mineral then another 500-1000 on semi synth.
Think he just doesn't want to waste his time.
Will go the full 500 on the mineral and then get it booked in soon as. By the time that actually comes round I'll be well run in as you say. I'd like to get it on semi synth before I book it just incase it starts smoking or something on the new oil. Fine on the mineral.
Either way it's looking good so far.

Fair enough, I bet he's seen plenty of fresh builds go titts up on the rollers, if it covers the first 1000 miles trouble free chances are it'll be a beauty!

I remember seeing a guy trying to run in a turbo b series on the way to a meet many years ago, it was smoking like a train and he thought it would stop smoking once it was run in, lol
He was filling up every time we stopped
