the car seems to be wanting to oversteer for corners which shouldn't require that amount of turning the wheel,
when i'm driving straight forward the wheel sits toward the right so it isn't straight.
is this because of the steering rack or the track rod ends ?

any help would be appreciated thanks.

This can be due to a number of reasons, to check as to weather it is the track rod ends that have play, you will need to jack the front of your car up so preferably both wheels are of the ground (or get it on a ramp even better) if you cant get both wheels just one in the air suspended. You will need to hold the wheel either side and give it a wiggle/shake and check if their is any play in the wheel, if their is you will need to inspect each ball joint for play, shot boot etc. Get a helper to shake it if their is play present and locate the play. If it is coming from the track rod end you will need a new one, sounds like you need wheel alignment due to the steering wheel not being streight.
For a breif check of the rack sit inside the car with the vehicle turnd off. Turn the wheel side to side swiftly and listen out for any audable knocks
