Starting this thread to keep a record of the build and progress. I've had this ek9 for about a year and not done much with it so decided to go baws oot as we say in Scotland!

Plan is to turbo the b16b with stock internals and later build a b18 to make big power.

Anyway heres some pics of the car as it stands...

Nice one mate can't beat hardrace stuff I think.

Seems like quality stuff mate. Canny fit it though as the ramp is out of action. Hopefully have it sorted for the weekend.

Lol dull one with the ramp bet you can't wait

Like going back almost a year exactly for me.
Hopefully you'll have more luck than I had this year!

I hope so Jesse I read your build thread and you've been through the wars with it. Bad start though... new switch for the ramp is 300 quid!!!

So the 300 quid switch arrived...

Not surprised it was so dear when it came from these guys...

But the ramp is back in action :nice:

Work starts now!

Holy moly, £300 for that? I thought the damper pulleys where a rip off lol

I couldn't believe it mate! that was the cheapest we could find it anywhere.

Wow. Crazy expensive for a switch essentially?

It carries the 3 phase power and has the upper and lower limit control on the back of it but yeah mate it's just a switch. Robbing b******s!

Well atleast the build can now commence!
Good luck!

Went to look at a b18c4 bottom end today about 100 miles away... Some peoples idea of mint condition is sh*t. So came back empty handed. Anyway got back and finally got the car in and started taking back end off to underseal and replace suspension bushes etc.

Been a busy week, got the under seal on after stripping and cleaning the back end

Before

after

Underseal

Really please with how it looked after sealing it.

Stripped the trailing arms and they were a bit shabby so removed the rust and blasted paint off

Paint then removed

New Bush in

Primer on

First coat of paint

Clear coat

Done

Really happy with how they turned out. Took a fair bit of time but was worth it.

Springs were really rusty for only being 18 months on the car so they were next

Then got to the back brakes and brackets for the arb and brake lines

Calipers were grim. Pink? Who does that?

Turned out pretty well though.
