Edit

B18cR
Had a recent head gasket "oem" by jap service parts
Failed

Weeping out the corner
Now white smoke in vtec
Idle fluid leaking out the exhaust
Coolant over flow emptys itself quickly.

Now the part I need advice on

Cold, fuel pressure is around what it was mapped too
After driving it will drop to 30psi
It loses all power
And sounds as if it wants to cut out

What could this be ?
I'm pretty sure head gasket can't be linked but I'm not too sure hence why I've put that too.

Fuel filter hasn't been changed in 2 years so that will be changed soon
I maybe upgrading the fuel pump in case it is an issue with the OEM piece

Any advice would be appreciated greatly

Tried a new cap?

I assume you have sorted your head gasket already? If so does it rev normally when in neutral? Fuel pump may be suspect like you suggest.

Not yet, hasn't fully failed just yet, haven't got the money to pay out for labour either
Not happy with the customer service of map service parts, ignoring me emails, will try and phone if I get no response by Monday.

I do think it maybe something to do with the fuel pump too

I will upgrade this to a walbro I think

I have a fuel pump out of a b18 conversion in the house, which is working perfectly chum. If your blowing white smoke it means your head gasket is leaking coolant into the cylinder, hence the water out the exhaust and water emptying quickly.

The problem is probably coming from the head gasket and getting worse when the engine warms up and expands. Get that sorted first then see if you still have a problem

Fuel pressure regulator? They do fail.
Is the cylinder head flat? How come the gasket was changed in the 1st place?

Sounds like the head gasket is the root cause to me, I'm with Vtex.

Gasket can cause fuel pressure drop ?
I have a black works adjustable one

Gasket was skimmed 5 thou I believe, was done to change the stem seals

How are you metering your fuel pressure? Regardless of your drop in fuel pressure I would sort your head gasket before you start messing with anything else

Have a gauge attached to the fuel rail

Yeah it's coming off the road soon, just trying to find a diesel car to keep me going until I've got everything sorted
