Not used my car in a couple of weeeks went to open it last night and I can here the alarm beep, but the lights don't flash as they normally do and the locks stay put and the key I've got doesn't turn in any of the locks but it's been starting the car for the last 18 months I've owned the car??
I'm wondering if the batteries ran so low all it can do is power the alarm and not move the locks or something? Does anyone know where I can get to the bonnet release from outside the vehicle?? It's an ek9

I think the best way into these is by putting a rod in between the door and body and pulling the boot release. That's what I would be going for anyway....

As it happened I was getting my windscreen replaced today so the guy that's just done that had a lock out kit so he got it open by flicking the door latch, and it would seem it was a flat battery causing all my problems.

Good that you got it sorted. Weird the key doesnt turn the locks though

Yeah I'm thinking the ignition barrel must have been changed at some point before me owning it which is more worrying!

I remember a similar situation which I had been in where I unlocked the boot and threw my keys in and got something else out the boot then closed it.. the only set of keys I had which were in the boot and all the other doors were closed. Ended up smashing the driver side wind screen just to get access into my car again LOL.

Ive done this before. Wire onto the boot release is the way forward.
Strange that ur keys dont open the door.
