Ernies Rotrex K20 Build

So after trying to sell my EG track car for the past month with no luck (people wants stuff for nowt these days!) I took the decision to break it and keep the shell for another time.
Some of the parts will make it over onto this, 300mm brakes and coilovers for starters...

I took this to a weigh bridge near me the other day.. it came in at 1100kg! This was with everything from factory in it.. spare wheel, tool kit the lot and 1/4 tank. As i'm keeping it I will be shedding some weight ready for some track action over the coming yr.

So started on getting the weight down.. crash bars and sound proofing from boot and under back seat have gone, I also fitted my Momo wheel and removed the passanger airbag.

I spotted a carbon bonnet cheap that needed re-laquering and had a snapped bolt in.. picked it up Fri and wagged it over with some fresh laquer after flatting it back... came out ok! While I was collecting the bonnet i spotted a Civic Jordan that the guy was breaking so I got the rear bumper and lip off it for 30 notes! Result! Painted it and got it fitted today...

Chucked the bucket seat in out of my track car as I'd given my Bride to my son for his EK.. dosent really suit it so will prob replace with something newer shortly.

Messed around with the ride height.. still not right as its rubbing due to the 225's all round... bit more work needed.

While I had the rear bumper off, I tided up the rear panel as it was looking a little grotty!

Few more minor bits done...

Clear side repesters and some OEM style i-vtec stickers for the rear 1/4's... also debadged and dewipered the rear tailgate.

I fitted a cold air feed from the centre bumper vent to the intake to help get some cooler air for it...

Next up will be fitting the 300mm EP3 front brakes off my EG and I'm tempted to fit the 3" exhaust too... :)

Really like this - strikes me as a bit of a "sleeper" :nice:

Yeah thats what I'm aiming for!

On the look out for a new spoiler and will be getting some more weight out...

Booked trackday at Cadwell on 2nd July too..

EP3 300's are on with Yellowstuff pads and some Red HEL braided lines...

3" system with 'tucked' backbox for extra stealth! This is off my EG but going tofit it to this at the weekend as the centre box is rattling on the current system and driving me mad!

Started on the prep for the trackday on July 2nd.

Picked up an EK4 rear ARB.. didnt want anything too big so this 15mm bar will be ideal. Fitted it with new Superpro D bushes and new droplinks.
The bushes were shot in the rear LCA's so picked up some new complete arms with a matching subframe brace.

New cushion for the Seeker.. and picked up a pair of new track wheels.. these are BIG.. in preperation for a hike in power later in the year. ;)

Picked up a spare set of DC2 arms and fitted ploy bushes to them along with a Whiteline Caster Kit, this will had 2.5 degress of caster.. also got poly compliance bushes and Hardrace bushes for the rear camber arms... I'll be fitting a few washers when I fit the camber arms to dial out some of the rear camber.

Fantastic build man, love black hondas!

Thinking about K20'ing an em1 shell i have lying around! Would €3000 have me sorted dya think? Cheers
