So, I have sold the DC2, It was a fantastic car and a prime example. It's just with my current situation I couldn't justify parking it in the street/using it over winter & and it not being practical to run two car's at the moment. So I sold it without the Mugen Gen.2 and still have the MF10's.

The FN2 is a nice driver with plenty of nice modern touches and I don't worry about driving wherever I need to in any weather and parking it anywhere too. It goes quite well and the body feel's rigid, However for a sense of event/atmosphere/enjoyment the DC2 is in a league of it's own and I dare say mechanical component quality has definitely taken a dive since the DC2 era. Also, The brakes are crap and the ride smoothness is similar to my DC2 was on coilovers!

I already miss the track side of things and I feel a 1250kg FF Honda with an electronic accelerator should remain my daily, I have strong thoughts of buying a cheap EP3 to Strip it, Tyres, Brakes, Bucket and it and blasting a fair few tracks next year.

FN2 is one owner from new, 2008, FHSH, stock and Alabaster silver in colour which was exactly what I was after, This is the 6th one I viewed, I was amazed at how many buckets there are around despite being a relatively new car and not exactly at the lower end of the PP! I was viewing them whilst driving the '2 and each time I walked back to it, I had a huge question mark over my head, The DC2 was cleaner overall and had less rust than most and it was '99.

*Flame suit on*

Cheers
Kris

Dont like em but im sure ul do great things with it dude :)

Tbh I like them. Got an fk2 family car, love getting into it. It's like a space ship with the dials.

Great cars to drive! Shame you had to sell the dc2 was super cool man :(

You got one of the nicest DC2, I was following your thread from previous EK4 and you sold it for a fresh import DC2R. Just love your DC2R so it is sad to know you have to let it go. The newer Honda usually is alot more comfy and FN2 is a good choice too, at least it is a TypeR.

I wasn't a fan of the FN2 for a good while, but they've grown on me recently. They're going for cheap too.

Looks mint mate and I'm sure its a really smooth daily driver, nice to see Honda putting a bit of effort into the interiors for a change too

You will miss the DC2 but I hope to see you and Amos back in something for the track eventually!!

Think we all are going to miss your dc2, It was a beauty for sure. Fn2 has grown on me and for the price why not, They are not that bad as people think. Forget what Jeremy Clarkson thinks!

I'd feel guilty if I drove a clean, rust-free EK9 or DC2 throughout winter. And I always park at the very back of every car park. And if you're on street parking like me, you're always keeping an eye on it.

A subtle, standard FN2 would give me some worry-free motoring compared to a really tidy EK9/DC2, so I can see why you purchased this.

sometimes choices need to be made, I still regret selling my dc2 to this day...

Nice car. Not a bad buy.

I sometimes miss mine, and often look at FN2 for sale.

Looks clean man! Stick some Eibach springs on it, will make it much more comfortable! Sounds counter intuitive but it's true!

Defo eibach springs over stock for looks and comfort. While ur at it, get soke eibach camber bolts and get tye FRSU done. Major difference over stock

Thanks for the positive response guys, I know this is not an R like they used to be and I'm not going to preach about this thing or regard it as the drivers dream but I do enjoy for what it is and I guess I'm a loyal Honda guy, I could have bought a golf or a 3series or something 'nice'. But I'm glad I chose this, it provides some fun when your in the mood and I personally like the look of both interior and and exterior not forgetting its a good daily driver. I'd recommend one if you want relatively care/guilt free motoring compared to a fresh and delicate 9 or 2 as mentioned. There are a lot of sheds out there so I wouldn't be swayed too easily by the 5-6k price tags, I viewed poor examples at 8k +! As a jack of all trades car I think it's excellent, still got that itch for a track mobile. This will be staying OEM it's good enough for me for what it's purpose is. One without the 19" was priority, really dislike those wheels! These cars aren't without their issues but this seems like a good one so far!.

And Stephen, I can imagine I'll be sorting the next car for us to share, god help it lol.

Mate of mine has an FN2 with 17s and chunky tyres. Seemed to help a little with ride comfort.

was thinking about one of these for a daily while I take the ek off the road for much needed love and attention, its between this and a german diesel , but I love the interior in these and that's whats swaying me towards them, but being a high revving n/a petrol car, whats the mpg and tax like ?
the interior on these are a lot better than the german cars in the same price range

If I ever changed wheels on this I think I would go 17's with some Eibachs as mentioned but I reckon I'll just keep the FHSH and do nothing else.

do you mind me asking how much you left the dc2 go for ?

I sold the car, Mugen wing and MF10's separately and I got what I paid for importing it, undersealing it and putting an alarm on it. HOWEVER I spent well over 3k on it. I enjoyed that car though. There just aren't enough people out there who understand you get what you pay for in this world unfortunately, I was receiving various 4-5k offers and even a gentlemen asking me 'have you considered this is stupidly over priced?, That spoiler looks terrible' . I just about covered 7k miles in it since I got it from Japan.

Tbh, I love the inside and outside looks wise, Sharp and modern I feel and puts a smile on your face when you want it to. I never plan to own a diesel myself.

Mpg, Average 32-35, Tax £290 PA. Not ideal but I barely do 100miles a week.

I'd recommend buying an honest well maintained example, 2008 onwards. The 2007's suffered 3rd gear synchro trouble amongst other niggles.

My digital speedo is getting replaced, £560+ VAT, Lucky I have warranty eh.
