Been posting in the members rides area with updates and stuff but Thought i would start a build thread instead.
Decided to do so on here as i never really wanted to keep updating the one on civiclife...

So Had a few civics over the years, my last one being part of the scene yo stance thing last year with my EJ9...

Not going to lie it was fun while it lasted, i liked keeping it clean, but it started to break and scrub and rub too much as they all do.

Wasnt really looking for another Civic at the time but a friend decided to sell up his EK4 for a reasonable price so i snapped it up and started transferring all my parts over from the 'stance' build.

This is how i got it

Then the swap over began.
Recaros
EK9 rear seats
EK9 Rear lip
LCAs (skunk2 reps) ****
Prosport coilovers (ebay) ****
Genuine OMP wheel
Spoon n1 rep (fouled on ARB) ****
toyo Aluminium rad

The bay was in desperate need of tidying up so got a new cover and ditched the gheto inlet kit straight away.
I had the red rotas kicking about so threw them on as fanblades were bald.
Picked up a few parts along the way too like the front lip.

So some pics

Then made a deal with my brother to get the circuit 10s on, and swapped the tyres off my Lensos onto them Nankang NS2.....awefullllllllll

Tidied up the bay some more and sorted myself a buddyclub spec 4 system.

It cleans up pretty good, then i got the Kanjo style and track bug real bad....
As much as i wanted to go kanjo/track with it, i still wanted to keep it clean and have a tidy bay.
battery and fusebox relocated
stripped rear
sound deadening gone
Fake takata harnesses (they went soon after)
flimsy rear braces (pants)
minor Kanjo side theme

Also did a Sprint day at curborough which was good fun, really showed the weaknesses of the car, even with that it still punched above its weight and set ok times throughout the day with myself improving as i went on.

After buying a second hand toyosport manifold to tidy up the bay some more and finding out it did not fit, i drew the line, i was sick of having cheap, ****, ill fitting, poorly made parts on the car.

Ive learnt my lesson, and learnt the hard way, you get for what you pay for.

A friend decided he was selling his well specced EK4 so i bought it for parts i needed and broke the rest.

Parts ive collected from it but some i havent fitted yet:
Meister R coilovers
Carbon ek9 spoiler
Buddyclub P1 LCAs
Genuince ASR brace
Buddyclub adjustable Camber arms
HKS braided lines

The car was on the up with every part i replaced:
the meisters made unreal difference
Landed a set of SSR type Cs also with federal RSRs upfront got some toyo proxes for the rear.
Byebye nankangs and rotas
Tegiwa Xbrace
Tegiwa 3 point front brace.
PLM tri Y manifold.
Genuine Takata drift lll harness.
Buddyclub Shift knob
Buddyclub oil cap
Buddyclub Rad cap
Buddyclub water temp hose adapter.
Samco yellow hoses
Rear aero spats to fit ek9 lip

Some pics to show the progress.

Then within the last few weeks i got around to upgrading my brakes
Ferodo 2500 pads upfront
And went with an EBC pad and disc package to finish the rest off.
ATE super blue (type 2000?? whatever the replacement was)

Also bagged myself a fixed buddyclub bucket from irf off of here, top guy.

Finally some pics from prep for japshow and some from there.
Ended up running a 15.6 best on sunday, not best pleased with that but couldnt get a decent launch.
Blitzed a scooby STI though (dont care if hes a **** driver i still win in the video)

Will keep on top of this now hopefully.

Please comment and criticise if necessary.

Cheers.

Really like this rare colour, nice and clean, With abit of kanjo style to top it off. Putting the seat to good use I see :)

Cheers irf, Seat is boss, bit tight but after taking out the bottom sponges the position is perfect for me.

I like the front lip spoiler supports. Haven't seen them be used in a while. :nice:

I didnt really want to use the struts on a lip without having the aero underlip, but the BYS rep had no way of being fitted correctly.
So the struts are there to stay for now untill i sort something better

looks cool mate. really like the drivers seat.

the sunrooves in these things weight a fair amount so with that removed and with some interiour metal cut away you can get rid of an easy 20KG more.

keep it up!

i know everyone keeps telling me to ditch the son roof!!

I think it will be a worth while weight loss, and since i found out after driving to japshow its hotter with the roof open than it is with it shut and the cover over it,
its going definately

Finally sorted out my poor excuses for lights yesterday, upgraded to osram nightbreakers too as my current bulbs were as much as a candle from 4 miles away
Also deleted fog lights as they were playing up and id got bored of them.

then i decided to go a bit mad and install my polished rocker cover...

but now i want to polish the lot

I got a piece of billet you can polish for your spark plug cover if you want it
Actually , I might wrinkle it for mine LOL

lol you can have my skunk2 one i wrinkled, il have the polished stuff

Been busy the last few weeks doing little parts here and there ready for shows and curborough on the 29th

Managed to swap my carbon Whale ***** for an AEM V1, didnt come with a hydro shield but i ran it anyway...... made sure all my liners were held in place correctly etc.

Had good weather up till the day of TRAX when it pissed it down, as a double check i thought id check at the fuel station a few miles down the road to see if it the filter was wet... and to my horror it was!!
Quickly ripped it off and threw on an old AEM short arm for the journey and ordered myself a hydro shield when i got home.
LESSON LEARNT.

Also as i was cleaning the car i kind of got sidetracked when i saw the metal polish, decided to give the manifold a quick go... this was the result of 10 minutes a pipe with some wire wool, a microfiber and autoglym metal polish. I really need to order a kit and use the dremel as its not kind on the hands!!

In preperation for TRAX i also wanted to paint my rear bootlid, spotted the Rustoleum "plastidip" stuff in halfords and thought id give it a shot.
Terrible product, i followed its instructions for no prepping etc, and it turned out shite, but looks on in pics.
Also put some more bolts in the rear lip to fix it in place better

Id purchased some "f1" style mirrors a few weeks ago and was looking for ways to fix them in place, didnt really want to spend the 55 on the mirror blanks so spoke to a friend whos starting up a styling shop to see what he could do. (visceral performance styling)
He said he wanted to try out the carbon kevlar as some practise so i asked him to make some blanks.

Ok for first attempt and suit the car well in my opinion.

Parts still to fit in the near future:
HKS turbo timer (why not)
HKS braided lines
Dials
p28 ecu with Htune chip (throws the car into limp mode for some reason, going to leave this till its time to get mapped)
White neons (please just leave me be)
MOAR vinyls (have white and gold, thinking of a motul style livery)
More goodies from Visceral (spoiler and skirts)
Fit sunroof blank (when its delivered)
Front lower ball joints

Parts to order:
Buddyclub rail (not happy with how the buddyclub sits on the sidemounts atm)
2 more Federal RSR
HArd race front camber arms
RTA bushes

I've got a pair of eibach pro camber arms if any use? They are good used ones.
