My '96 EJ9 Ongoing Build

Afternoon everyone, I bought my first Civic yesterday, a 1996 Tahitian Green 1.4 EJ9. One lady owner from new with 45k. She has marks and dents on all 4 corners where the lady drove it into the garage wall ( as you do) and needs trailing arm bushes as they've been an advisory for 8 years :O but apart from that she is actually pretty clean, the engine bay is just covered with dust from being in the garage more than she was driven.

In 19 years she hasn't had a cambelt so I'm having that done next Sat. (I had bad luck with my first car, a 106, owned her for 3 months then the head went, paid £550 for it all to be sorted and now not even 10 months later the head is going again. So i'm not taking any chances with this one!)

I have a plan for this girl and I'm going to be running her as my daily so progress may be slow at times but I am determined to make this one special

Use a photo sharing site like photo bucket to enlarge the pictures

Washed her earlier, cleaned the windows and used a load of dash wipes to clean the grotty interior. Thank god for latex gloves!
Now off out for a spin with the mrs

Nice mate, had the same problem with the pics. Found the best way Is download photo bucket on your phone then copy link from there to here. When I first had my ej9 the interior was nasty.

Finally had time to wash and clean my headrests yesterday, they smell beaut now!

And my DIY cupholder with thanks to mcdonalds!

Cambelt and clearances being done today at EK Motorsport, then she's ready for a service in the next couple of weeks, then new bumpers when I'm back from LeMans have a good day!

That's not a bad idea for a cup holder

Works pretty well for their hot drink, small cold ones not as good but it does work and it fits near perfect!

Well I had a nice afternoon in the sun working on the automobile had a go at panel beating and got some of the dent(s) out.... (Should add that I need to finish the drivers wing and do the passenger wing then look at painting the wing, door and some black bits)










So that's me for a while, new bumpers being ordered when I have the cash and then time for some little mods and accessories!
