hi guys im looking for people opinions/experiences on tyres for an ek9 turbo for the road? im using rota slips 16x7. NS2-R? Advan Neova? Parada Spec 2?

I have shitty 6year old Toyo Proxes 4 on my road wheels.
Can't say I dislike them for what I use them for.
If I was buying I'd buy ad08 if I wanted to play safe.
Or gamble on ns2-r.
Rsr are pretty decent as a road tyre

I have bridgestone re002 on road wheels and I love them. Last longer than a semi slick would and good in the dry and the wet. I don't drive hard on the roads constantly so it suits me, but if I go for a back road blast the car still feels fairly grippy.
Personally I wouldnt bother with a semi slick, but I loved my rsr's if I was going that way, and would have them again - best value :)

Personally don't count rsr or ad08 etc as a proper semi slick but I get what you mean.
I suppose it's the same as everything else. Get the best tyre you can afford that's fit for purpose...

Ns2r can be had on eBay super cheap, a lot of mixed feed back though from people that have used them

As @nicole_ said. I also use RE002 on my road wheels. Grippy enough for what I need for the road, I rarely drive my car much anyway so never push it hard on the road anymore but for the money I can't complain :)

Thanks for the input guys. I've had a look at the rsr and they seem pretty reasonably priced. I couldn't find any re002 in 16 inch to compare against though. No one rate paradas?

Parada spec 2 are good in the wet aswell. Have used them around knockhill no problem in the rain.
Suspension plays a HUGE part in the wet.

From my personal experience on the road when it got wet it was scary and I would never buy them again for that reason. Also my best mate had them on his dc2 on knockhill it was fine in the dry but again soon as it got wet it was hopeless and span out.

Again these are just my experiences with these tyres. In my opinions you have better options out there.

Again thanks for the input folks. Just curious about the paradas as I've never used them and they seem a bit of an odd ball in the Yokohama range. I'll have a better look for re002 in 16 inch but I'm swaying towards the rsr.

AD08 or AD08-R

I've had Parada spec 2 and thought they were terrible on a D14 EK with no where near the power of a tubs, but thats just personal opinion...

260hp with 260 lbs ft of starlet turbo. No problems on road or track wet or dry with spec 2
When people say they are terrible, what do they mean? No grip or what?

Yeah lack of grip and also felt a bit unpredictable in comparison to other tyres i tried. In fairness maybe the word "terrible" was a bit excessive, still not a tyre i'd personally recommend though.

I've got NS2-R's. They replaced some AD08's. The AD08's were pretty good, but the NS2R outperform them in every way.

I was tempted by the ns2 r but I've went for a slightly different approach. Got a really good deal on two ad08r and two federal rsr. Will try both on the front/rear and then replace with the preferred tyre when they need changed.

Interesting, which compound did you go for?
