Mattyssb's black caged ITB'd K24 EK9

Had a some bits turn up today, so made a start on mocking up a few things.

13 row Oil cooler and mounting bracket (allows for sideways mounting)

Made a start on mocking up the strut ill weld on and dimple die it, need to fit the full lenght rad before i go any further to check clearance and hose fitting.

Fuel set up. A 1.5 litre ellis fabs swirl pot and APS (bosch 044 equivalent) pump and cradle
Will order fitting and lines at another time, bought so i could mock up in the spare wheel well before paint (will be seperated from the rest of the cabin when all fitted)

Made a template for the base to keep the swirl pot level in the wheel well

Needs some fine adjustment to be perfectly level :D

Remote brake/clutch pots lines that i had made by compbrake turned up, had to do a quick mock up to make sure they were the right lenght before its painted.

Got the oil cooler all fab'd and welded up today, really happy how it came out! :D
Will run lines over the gearbox and around that way, didnt want the lines to be anywhere near the open cambelt area or the manifold

Had my 2 litre catch can modified to take 4 AN10 fittings and a 30mm breather vent on top.
I know a 2 litre catch can is over kill, but TA rules state that i need if i was to run in that series, trying to do things right first time around :)

Set up an fab'd my swirl pot mount and got that all welded in, mounted the fuel pump to the side of it too.

Ignore the rust repair patch, still need to clean that up

Got my catch can back from ellis fab! Hit him up on facebook if you need anything, his work is awesome!

Picked up a carbon vented bonnet, which is suprisingly alot lighter and my single skin metal bonnet, always wanted a subtle vented bonnet and this popped up at the perfect time!

Took a trip to torques to pick up some fuel line fitting today too
Teflon braided line so I can run it inside the car without the fumes.
Torques fuel pressure reg and gauge
Some AN6-8 bulkhead fittings
Ill be running AN8 feed and AN6 return on my fuel system

Few little bits done today, decided against pining the bonnet with 4 aerocatches. Couldnt get my front end to line up at all and it was going to be more of a pain than i thought.
Got some bonnet hinges of a mate and set about getting my front end aligned properly.

The front bumper wasnt clipped on for the pics, but its a hell of alot better than it was, turns out the slam panel needed some readjustment with a hammer :p

Mocked up the AN bulkhead pass throughs (feed right, return left)

Sorted AN adapters for my fuel pump, as the original banjo fitting will restrict flow
(Both AN8 fittings now)

My fancy torques fuel reg :D

Mocked up the mounting on the shock tower for the fuel reg, had to use some nutsert (best things ever) as you cant get to the back of the bolts

Mocked up my catch can too, mounted on the O/S shock tower, running a pedal box and ITBS leaves me with quite alot of room over the gearbox thankfully!!

And finally sorted out alot of stuff so i know where everything is ready for when it come back from paint!! :D

Great work.. What sort of tank are you fitting for fuel and where do you plan to mount it?

I'm keeping the stock tank for now, going off what alot of the guys in the vtec challenge are doing which is keeping stock tank under the car and the swirl pot allows them to run without carrying unnecessary fuel without any problems, this way i dont have any problem with having to seperate the tank from the cabin

Love it! No shortcuts taken and no expenses spared. Such a proper build. Wondering how you made the radiatior support removable. And what's your plans for the brake setup?

Thank you man! Apperictae it :)
Umm well I bought a new OEM front panel and drilled the spot welds out to remove it and then where the spot welded were, used them to nut and bolted the new one into place, it's taken abit of time to get the front end to line up proper but it all good now :))

Brake wise it'll be stock ek9 rear brakes with sufficient discs and pads for my application. Hel braided brake line through the whole car.
Compbrake pedal box with 0.625 twin AP M/c's and a balance bar set up with mechanical adjuster
And a 0.700 M/c for the clutch
Front brakes will be Hispec billet 4 pot (may upgrade at some point or rebuild and see how they fair) with sufficient discs and pads (hoping to run bells and rotors on the front)

Cut the lip off of my j's wings :nerv:

Decided it was a good idea to fold over the lip you find in the front inner arches as on my last EK running 205/45 16's it used to cut into the tread when pushing hard on track. So going to fold over the lips and stitch weld them up when i get some more gas for the welder next week.

Needed to sort the quik-latches for the front bumper so i set about mocking up a mount and where they need to be.

They turned out well and gave me a rough idea on what to do, need to make something stronger and better though as these sag after awhile. Will figure something soon, have some idea on what to do and make the whole bumper more sturdy.

And a random shot of the 9, im really happy with how everything is going progress wise atm
Theres no real rush for it but would like it ready for testing and such early feb and hopefully enter TA next season. 2016 goal! :nice:

Picked up a hondata s300 V3 and some spherical drop links from spirit9 today :nice:

Also forgot i had this, genuine spoon preface lip

Little test fit before i made up some proper bumper brackets

Its deffo staying :fapfap:
