I have a set of front brand new genuine honda discs 282mm, if that's any good?

Oem honda or brembo blank discs will be perfect.

Don't waste your money on grooved or drilled

I was looking at the price of the dixcels on the burn website fairly pricey alright need something a bit cheaper as I want to do the next trackday. What pads would be suitable then as I Heared ds2500 will make s**t of the discs and oem pads will just disintegrate. Any advice appreciated

I use RPB, also used by the civic cup. Great performance and no cracking at all

I had ds2500 and brembo blanks on my dc5,
I'm using them again on my ek9 that I'm building up now.
Never had a problem with them,
if you ride the brakes unnecessarily though it's possible to damage even the best quality disc.

Most grooved discs are just average quality discs with the price bumped up for the sake of a few cooling grooves being machined in,

DS2500 will be fine with OEM discs. Mintex 1144, Carbotech XP8 (or XP10) and so forth. I´ve tried different brands of discs, but they have a tendency to warp with hard use. OEM discs never give me any problems.

Brembo blanks every time for a track car IMO.
Only reason I run EBC high carbon is because I cracked a disc at the ring and had no alternative...
Note the cracked discs where mtec, which I've seen crack twice now so I'd stay away from them with a decent track pad.

How powerful/heavy is the car?
How advanced a driver do you think you are? Realistically...
It took me a fair while to outgrow EBC yellow stuff front and rear with 200hp @ 1ton in my previous ek9.

I've heard bad things about ds2500 recently, mainly horrific brake judder at around half pad life on track. For the cost of them I'd not bother.

I was going to go with mtec as they are the cheapest option even if I changed them after for a better setup. I was thinking of yellowdtuff pads.

My car is a 219 bhp b18c. Semi stripped rear ( rear plastics still in ). I have never done a trackday so I don't really know how advanced I would be. Just used to a good b road blast at most.
So I don't think I would be going too mad

Tbf that should work out fine. Be wary of upgrading only the front pads when the time comes.
A harsh front pad against the relatively mild yellows ends up sending the bias forward once the yellows get overworked. I'm pretty sure this is what cracked my discs.

I'm going to do the front and rears anyway Jesse thanks for the heads up.
Where do you get your brembo blanks from Jesse as I can't find any on the net. All I can find is ek4 ones

I usually go to eBay for them, although the last time I wanted a set they where out of stock everywhere, hence ending up with the mtecs...

Iv looked everywhere ill try ebay.I think oem are too expensive atm as I don't make as much as I used to at the minute otherwise I wouldn't think twice about them. Mtec it is I think so.
Thanks again

Dc2 UK/98 spec discs and pads are the same, try searching for them if you haven't already

I tried that. I always search dc2 parts when I'm ordering.
I have a random dc2 registration from eBay that I give to motorfactors when I need parts from them. Saves trying to explain that it's a civic but doesn't have uk civic parts etc
I just tell them I've got a dc2 lol

Tried that aswell waiting on a reply off one person on ebay. I normally search dc2 when looking for parts as I have a b18 in my ek9. I really want to do this trackday coming up but as itl be my first but I don't think my car is ready atm. I need discs and pads and would probably need to upgrade my rad too and my tires as there toyo proxies. Just a lot of money in a short time

Thing with the trackdays is its so easy to get caught up preparing the car for faster laptimes that you end up missing the fun altogether...
I'd spent majority of this year prepping my ek9. When it's oil pump went I had to jump in my daily mx5 for the rest of a trackday and I had just as much fun in that going 5secs a lap slower...

Agreed! I was trying to get everything I could get done for my car on its first track session and I ran out of time, I ended up stressing and getting paranoid about everything going wrong. In the end track time goes so quickly, and I realised just need to relax and enjoy it.
