hi guys. I've got accord type r brakes for the 9. Test fitted them tonight and there's a problem. When the carrier is tightened up to the hub the outside part of it is hard up against the outside face of the disc? I can't fix this by putting a washer between the carrier and hub. So sandwiched between the the two but I'm not happy with that.

Any suggestions?

Sorry should of said I can fix this. With the washers in place the disc turns freely. The discs are brand new

Hi mate, I was considering doing this same upgrade on my car but in doubt regarding fitment especially under OEM wheels.

Did you find any issues fitting the larger disks and did you need and spacers to fit the calipers under OEM wheels?

Thanks

I went up to 16 inch wheels mate. I'm positive the 15's wouldn't clear the callipers even with spacers. Spoke to a few people today and it seems the washers are the way it has to be done. Not ideal but if that's the only way...?

Only options are a washer or grind the carriers back man.

Ah crap was hoping calipers would fit under OEM wheels in one way or another...... :(

I can offer a standard ek9 wheel up tonight mate see if it fits. Will let you know but I am pretty sure it doesn't.

Cheers mate.....maybe with a 10mm spacer it might fit as thats the thickest spacer im willing to fit behind the wheel.......

Doesn't fit mate. Not sure if it would with a spacer but the inside of the wheel doesn't clear the calliper.

I'm planning to use the ATR calipers and carriers on a EK4 with redrilled discs, I will have to use washers for spacing?

I think so mate. It's no a big deal you just need an m12 washer between the carrier and hub for each of the carrier bolts.

Can you not get lairy with the grinder? Assuming it's not the mating surface of the carrier that needs grinding...
Suppose a set of washers should be fine. Does seem abit gypsy fab, even for me lol
