Pretty sure i read on here somewhere that k20 injectors can be fitted on a b16b engine but just cant find the thread.

Does anyone know what is needed to make this conversion as im considering such an upgrade?

Thanks

We did it backwards a few years back and we use aftermarket injectors it might be different with OEM...
We fitted B series RC injectors on K series motor..
What we did was change O ring to a fatter one..
And i think we had to made new spacers for fuel rail..
They work but since it was something temporary we didnt care..

Your options are, machine the fuel so the larger K series injectors fit and mil down the mounting tabs so the rail will sit lower as the K series injectors are shorter. Or second option which I would recommend is to buy some adaptor top hats which allow K series injectors to fit the rail without any modification to rail itself. K tuned and a few other companies offer these top hats.

Cheers guys.....great info :bow::bow::bow:

Ok let's see what K Tuned have available so I can make this conversion happen :))

:thanks:

Found the top hats from K-Tuned but i forgot 1 thing......do the B series injector connectors (plugs) fit the k20 injectors?

Searching all over but cant get a definite answer.

Thanks

Im using k20 injectors on my build. H-Tune sell the K Tuned ones for 30quid posted via ebay.

I dont know about connectors but im assuming they are the same.

If your car has obd2(96+) wiring then yes the injector plugs are the same.

Yeah those are the top hats adaptors. I can easily source a set of k20 injectors over here but what im trying to find out is if the B series connectors fit k20 injectors......

What would be the advantages and disadvantages of using the k20 injectors over standard ones?

K20 injectors are 310cc so have a bigger capacity that the B18 injectors, but they will only be needed if you are getting close to 100% duty on the standard B18c injectors

Im sure its obvious but bigger injectors will need re-mapping to suit

and is it true about the spray pattern that the k20 gives into the cylinder that it gives like 4-5hp?

Yes installing k20 injectors definitely needs a remap and can also confirm that these injectors will give increased mid range torque over the standard injectors. Cant really say if its 4-5bhp more but the difference can surely be felt. I had standard injectors and a remap followed by k20 injectors and remap within a couple of weeks so could easily tell the difference.

Would anyone recommend running k20z4 injectors on a b16b, what exactly is needed apart from a remap to make them run. I currently have a standard b16b fuel rail but also have a aem hi flow fuel rail as a spare. I also have a obd1 ecu and harness available, engine spec is stock with breathing mods.

My injectors came from an EP3 so not sure if the k20z4 will fit the b16b......i had mine fitted by a professional tuner and had to do some modifications but don't ask me what he did as im not that technical and left everything in his hands. What i can tell you though is that there was no heavy modding involved.

Thanks for you're advice, greatly appreciated. I will look into it more, I've just been offered k20z4 injectors from a fn2 really cheap, so thought why not.

I will have a good low mileage set of k20a2 Injectors available after the start of Nov if anyone needs a set
