EK9 Racecar

Japfest was good! Had 2 track sessions, first session was damp. And my second session was cut short by oil temp issues.

The car performed well, the cage and the brake work improved my confidence. Only thing is I'm hankering for more power :yuno:

Watch this space ;)

So the quest for more power is beginning this bank holiday weekend.

The engine is coming out for some...... lets say changes for now! going to be stripping the front down for some fab work and re painting the engine bay.

80% of the parts have been ordered and will arrive in the next month or so.
I had one part arrive but it's being re delivered on Tuesday.

Let the work commence!

What's going on? K or turbo?

??? Me want to know too !! I'd say it's going to be good ?
Hint ? Just a little one !

Whatever you do dont k swap it. Dont turbo it. Keep it NA B series the way Honda intended it to be :)
Im all for k swaps and turbos but there will be no NA B series Ek9's left at this rate and that is so sad.
Beast gearbox build and some nice head work would be awsome

Whatever it is im going to try and convince him to let me tune it... lol

Due to software licencing issues I can't tune neptune (yet).
Only hondata and stand alone systems really.

Ah that's a shame, maybe by the time mine is finished you will be able to tune with Neptune.

Busy day today, my mate Landrover Doug came over to give me a hand taking out the engine.

All went according to plan, apart from some stubborn driveshaft nuts.

Taking the engine to work tomorrow to begin the strip down.

Managed to get crane in, tomorrow's drive into work will be interesting.

Great progress sam! I'm off work weds so I'll dig those bits out I mentioned at japfest. Least I can do after your help.

Thanks Jesse that would be great!
All I'll have to buy then is a cooler.
:nice:

Yep. If I see anything else that might be useful too you I'll let you know

Thanks bud! That would be ace.
Anything extra bits I'll send you some dosh.

Great progress on this fair play mate

Be good to see what plans you have got for it

Cant wait for the parts to turn up

Great effort on the build bro, looked ace going round track at JF too!

Can't believe how clean your shell is!?! Im going to steal all your pictures to take to my bodywork guy and just say 'make it look like this one!'

Excited to see whats going on with the engine too. I had mine mapped by Romain last month and it made 205bhp on a slightly happier dyno but I had the same treatment with the vtec lowered to 4,000rpm, makes such a difference to how it drives from down low in the revs doesn't it!? I'm waiting on a pair of AD08's to arrive + to fit my Wilwoods and will be getting out on track with it ASAP :D
