TPS issue

I'll attempt to get one tomorrow if I'm back at the unit.
I've had to leave it there as its undriveable right now.

Or if you could send me a picture of your wiring colours and which pin it goes into if you have the time I'd appreciate it greatly , then I can cross reference it when I'm back down.

I'm back in the garage tomorrow searching for my own issues so I'll get one then

I would check my wiring schematic and confirm the + , - , and signal wire are into the correct sockets of the connector. Maby they got shuffled around in the mix up. Another thought is to check the continuity of all your grounds, in case there extra resistance in the circuit (ie G101) .
Throttle bodies operate from a 0-5 voltage scale, with 0 volts being closed and 5 volts being opened. It is necessary to get less than .5 volts at closed throttle so the ECU can see when its "at Idle" . And there should be 4.5 volts or more at wide open throttle. Its never going to hit the 0 volt mark, or 5 volts due to expected loads in circuits and the corresponding grounds.

We're going to be checking the continuity today.
He thinks when the plug snapped and the wires were exposed, they could of shorted one another out when they touched one another hanging in the bay.

Did you find the issue? My learning to tune has lead me fairly deep into the wiring on these cars so enough communication between us should find the issue.

I'm having TPS issues aswell now lol
The signal on mine goes whacky after 7000rpm and has started messing with my fueling.
If tried wiggling wires etc but that's got me nowhere.

Come to think of it you have like 50 TPS sensors don't you?
Recon you could get one too me before weds afternoon?

We haven't touched it since , I haven't been at the unit so no idea if any progress has happened but doubt it.

I have 2 TPSs that are mine lol
The spare has a broken tab where my mate tried cutting the rivet out so needs a washer to hold it down, if I can get down tomorrow I'll be able to get it to you before Wednesday but I need to see if he will pick me up lol, units like 9 miles from me.

I've got one sorted bud. Someone local has 1 spare I can borrow to be sure it's TPS.

It's dropping voltage at anything over 7k rpm. I can't feel it but on my datalogs it shows tps % dropping from 100% down to 70 odd sometimes.
I took it off yesterday. Cleaned it all up and recalibrated it and it didn't do it on the test drive. I'll keep an eye on it and see what happens. My car seems to be having weird voltage issues that I'm only just finding because I'm actually looking at what sensors are doing.

Good thing you have the data logger to check everything. Wish I knew how to use the S manager for my Hondata then I could check everything.

I can teach you how to datalog if you need it. It's pretty simple to explain

I reckon you should make it a write up when you have time so others can read it too as it could be helpful for a lot of people.

So, little update
Sort of embarrassing actually.

They say d b h TPS sensors and plugs are compatible with one another , that is half true. We got a b series loom out and after checking the pin locations we came to realise the D series plug wiring pins are in different locations to the B series. I really should of checked the locations beforehand but in my defence 2/3 pins fell out on mine haha.

So that was the reason the calibration was going backwards.

Closest we can get closed though is 0.57 now and it's giving me an afr of 17.2 idle which is rich as **** and partial, throttle leans out so something must be wrong with my map I guess , never has run right on this map anyways so mapping with romain will happen when I can afford it.

Thanks for the help and pointers though guys .

17.2 is lean not rich. Remember it's parts air to parts fuel. That lean isn't a major issue on idle but obviously it's not ideal and will need corrected. You say it leans off when more load is applied? I'm assuming you mean richens? (Numbers go down)

Engine should run well enough at 0.57closed. Mine was around 0.56closed before I took it off to clean it. Had been like that for years aswell.
You can redefine closed and 100% throttle in the software anyway so it's no issue.

I got confused
Yes becomes rich on throttle number goes to around 10 on the aem .
When operating temp the idle does go past 18 which I think is as far as the sensor goes.

I think it will need a good mapping session to sort it out , I'm not prepared to have a go at setting a base map myself plus I have a feeling my tuner has put a password on the map.
