That looks epic, are you going for a tubular front subframe as well? I've been looking into making one for my eg build at the moment

Morning,
Yes the jig is being made for it at the moment. Tubular subframe and also tubular arms is the plan.
@Beetlejuice will have them available once they've been fitted and I've tested it on track.
They will be made in T45 for strength and you're looking approx 30kg saving over OEM!!!!!

I always wondered how much a tubular front end would save in weight.
30kg = 1 metric **** ton

Also. Available for ek? Can't see their being much difference.

New parts are pretty much landing constantly now ha ha..

To give you some idea of the work that's gone into the cage and the rear subframe this is the t45 that was ordered for it
And it's pretty much ALL GONE!!!

Nice! That's a damn good weight saving, I've just started mocking up a jig for the tube front subframe, was thinking of doing arms as well in future but finding time at the mo is an issue, I'd be interested to see beetlejuices designs and prices as it could potentially save me a job :)

when I first started it was 800kg. But now I've moved up to a 17" rim and also extra things like front splitter etc realistically I'm thinking 825. That should bring me in about 900kg with me in it.
Until it's put on the scales though it's all guesstimating from other builds. Within a half sensible budget though I cant really do much more than I have to try and keep the weight down.
With the new manifold and few other bits I'm hoping for a little more power than the Ek, so hopefully just over 300bhp

Should be pretty nippy

In fact the Ek was 950kgs without me, so even if it was 100kg less than that I think it will a worthwhile venture

It'll be nippy no doubt :) 300bhp and 825kgs is an impressive power to weight ratio

Similar weight goals as to what I'm aiming for, although I haven't gone as far as the rear tube frame, all looks spot on tho n I look forward to seeing the finished car

So much Awesome stuff going on in this build... I will be watching closely!!

Are you going up to 17" front and rear? I'm at 16" front and 15" rear now and it seems to work well but I've always wondered would moving up to 17 front 16 rear give more grip with the right size of tyre

I have already said to @Beetlejuice that I would be interested in the tubular subframe when it's tested and available, great mod for taking weight off the front end

Looking great Paul!
I've got one of those little fuse boxes to wire up in mine. Neat aren't they!
