First swiss EK9 (TypeRx) and modding story

Great update! that board with all the gas bottles and the regulator gauges. is that some kind of reference input for a really old exhaust gas analyser?

For your long cold start does it take longer than say 2miles to get upto full operating temperature on the dash gauge? also does the temperature dip down at all when driving at speed?... if it does then you will find your thermostat at fault. I work on a lot of EK9s and find it fairly common for the thermostat not closing fully/reacting very slowly.

Im very interested in your light. where did you buy this from? cheers

X2

if you got a few i would buy one

where do you get all ytour JDM parts and niggles?

Where did you find the EK4 engine hood liner? I'm looking for one.

thanks for your info:

1) yes it's a exhaust gas analyzer, but i believe it's quite a newer system. it's used for all new homolgations in switzerland :)

2) the thermostat should allready have been replaced. so that shouuld be ok.. was allready damaged, but still takes too long. hope i can see any difference now. made a few mods and will post those as soon as my car is back at home :)

at others:
LIGHTS: i bought those in japan, but you'll find a lots of those universal LED kits in the internet. just surf around and order them online :p

Hood liner: i bought it at a local honda garage (as used part). they're found on the most EK4's so just look around. most of the tuner-guys throw it away anyway so it's quite easy to find a used one if you ask in a EK4 forum or a local honda-tuner who maybe has some crappy EK4's :)

big update on electronics and minor styling things coming soon - next week my car will be back in my home-garage and then I'll work on different things :)

hey guys :)

long time since my last update. i just wanted inform you that i have reached the exhaust emission for euro3 now here in switzerland, so the car will be street-legal early next year for soon. man that was hard work. but soon it's done and than serious modifying can start :D

just want to notify you that i'm a bit tired of updating about 20different forums with my Story, so i just invented the EK9-project-Blog:
The real JDM EK9 Project Blog

here every update is posted as soon as done, as well as a lot of background-informations, modlists, etc. sadly it's only written in german, but if you have some questions, please let me know. of course there happend a lot of things and i installed a lot of new parts so, check the blog to see the actual situation and a lot of pics from the car :D

:blinx: Great ride bro! I love the exhaust, it sounds like it belongs on the circuit race car! :nice::nice:

also some new parts arrived here within the last time...

should look like this when it's mounted:

Does this really have a big postive affect and can it work for aftermarkt radiators as well? :please:

HI, sorry for my late update, im currently very busy on finishing my engineering-school here :-/

1) My car is finally street legal over here and it's the loudest registered car in the region of schaffhausen - great :D

2) No that SS Works parts don't affect that much i think, but i just wanted to get those rare JDM bits that no one else got and of course i also was wondering ifit makes any sense at all. i didn't see any great effect, but to be honest i don't drive my car at a limit where something like this could be useful ;)

3) got a new windshield (old one had a crack), mounted some new ek9.org stickers and a few other things. sadly my cam broke a few weeks ago, but a new one is ordered :D

So, the project continues :)

1) i ordered some new parts (Still a secret, but you'll see in a few weeks, some very nice and rare JDM parts as usual :D)

2) got up early half six in the morning today, to make some test-shots in the sunrise today: These are the results (slightly modified lighting in Photoshop) and i really love the pictures :D
enjoy 'em :)

lovely looking car mate :nice:

congratulations on becoming legal and being the noisiest

HI Folks. thanks for your comments. good to know im not the only crazy guy loving a little honda :D

Sorry for my missing updates. if you want to be up2do please refer to my blog:
The real JDM EK9 Project Blog
but I'll try to keep this thread more up2date in future :D
so i'll try to tell you what happend the last weeks:

1) Got some new parts:
- J's Racing rear lower arm bar:
p1000864.jpg

- Cusco master brake cylinder stopper (for car's with ABS)
p1000869.jpg

- Sergeant (Japan) Billet coolant hoses with Water-temp Sensor attachement :D
p1000865.jpg

first i sanded down and resprayed the cusco thing in flat black, because the blue color just doesn't match my color-concept:
p1010665.jpg

p1010667.jpg

2) then i also got a little upgrade for my garage, really makes it much easier working on the car:
p1010743.jpg

3) Well i decided to mount the cusco brake cylinder stopper and at the sime time tuck a little wires (means hide some things):
I removed a bracket behind the driver strut-tower and rerouted the cables deeper so it's no more visible and also rerouted the battery-wire who belongs to t he ABS-fusebox (i think) on the right strut tower. then i removed the sticker on the right strut tower and placed it in the codrivers door (i need a sticker about car informations here in switzerland)
before:

after (hope you can see the difference. mostly near the firewall):
p1010789-kopie.jpg

not a big difference but makes the car quite cleaner :D
here some work in progress pictures:

Cusco master brake cylinder stopper installed:

4) Now i decided to mount the Sergeant coolant hoses, but sadly the blue samco hoses don't fit the colour-sheme too and i decided to go for something not-so-flashy. so i bought a universal black flat coolant hose at the local spareparts-shop yesterday:
looks much more stealthy :D

left: Seargeant billet hose with blue samco connecting-hoses. right: Flat black hose.
p1010806.jpg

will need to cut the black hose in fitting sizes next days and see if i can hook up the whole thing. the black hose only will replace the blue connector-hoses. no worry. the billet parts will be in :)

next tasks will be to catch up a spoon resonator remover thing (Direct airflow pipe) and remove both the upper and lower intake resonator boxes. I'll also try to hide the black earthing wire that comes from the head and goes directly to the headlight-bracket. just doesn't look nice :D then we'll see. im trying to save some money for a JIC suspension. we'll see. I'll keep you up 2 date :)
