hey there ladies and gents

i wanted to know how many EK9's were produced in the time period they were produced.

also, curious to know how many are there left, how many in australia and in melbourne alone :)

i just wanted to see how exclusive they are here in australia, something to be proud about :)

kennee

was wondering this myself :p there had to be a fair few built. i reckon theres still thousands left especially in japan

They were never a limited edition or anything, just a full production car so it will be thousands. Dont think it would be possible to find out how many. Would be like trying to find out how many EP3s there were left in the world.

To get a rough production figure you could try and find the latest made EK9 like a 2000 or even 2001. (not sure when they stoped production) and check out the chassis code as it will have a numerical refference to How many where built before it.

to my knowledge i know they made less of these compared to the EK4's and EM1 known here in australia as VTi-R hatch and VTi-R Coupe

but all i know of in melbourne there is only 3 genuine EK9's

most of them are replica's or re-shell so they dont count

im nearly sure i read somewhere that there was only 4000 prefacelifts and 4000 facelifts ever made but i cant mind now where i read it....

that sound very low.. id say Ireland prob has the most of them in by now lol
it would be good to find out how many of each color where made

I seen on here where type r dunk said there was roughly 6650 prefacelift's and roughly 10000 facelifts and over 5100 rx model ek9s

No not my add but seen it alright. I texted the lad about it and turns out I know him so I told him to leave it

"I cannot figure out anything from Japanese sites but according to most people rumours, around 8000 EK9s were developed in total, half of them as pre- facelifts and the rest as facelifts." by manosek9

i found this on this forum since this topic was talked about before so god only know's how many there is. but i've heard that is the number made from a few different sites.

At the rate they are getting destroyed I would not be surprised if value goes up as they become harder to find. Key is to keep the car immaculate :nice:.
People pay good money for old mint hot hatches Just look at pug205 gti & golf mk1s etc somday the ek9 might sit up there with them As even now it has a great cult status

my car is nearly due a full respray at this stage, there's no damage, just a good tidy up so it wont be far off immaculate then so hopefully the value goes up:nice:

Honda made
7007 EK9-100 (1998 models),
3980 EK9-110 (1999 models) and
5225 EK9-120 (2000 models)
so there were 16212 EK9 Civic Type R manufactured in total.
