any one know any thing about them and what they are like ?

i know there heaver then the b series

was loooking into doin a b18 conversion but seen a h22 for sale and said to myselk there aint that many h22 out there

any one any advice for me ?

aswesome setup, great torque, handling is compramised, thats not to say you cant make it handle good but its gonna be difficult, the transmission sucks unfortunately, one of the weakest gearbox's honda's made, if you can get one with an H2B kit that would be excellent! also the proper swap axles are a must and you cant lower the car too much as the oil pan will sit very low.

I dunno how much you have seen the H22 for, but there is a guy on ebay selling like a 93 civic with a H22 turbo conversion that's nearly complete with loads of spare parts for £3000 which seems a bargain if you've got something better to put it in !

it would be going into an ek9 what a H2B kit ?

does any one know some one who has done this ?

I can second that statement about the transmission i broke 2! fifth gear syncros in 2 months! I loved my Accord type R but the gearbox really let it down!:(

what year was it how much bhp was it puttin out standard were the mods easy to get for it ?

i have 3 friends that have H22 engine, 2 in civics, 1 in an integra. H2B is when use a B series gearbox with an H series transmission, you need a custom adapter kit that is sold by "evolution industries" here is a link:

Evolution Industries U.S.A.

Accord Type Rs are 220bhp standard. Mine was a 2000 on a v plate in pirates black, only mods were a panel filter as i spent all my money on fixing the gearbox! :angry2: :angry2::angry2: Off the shelf mods are only limited 2 Exhausts and inductions kits.

I think its great if your just setting your car up for drag or street because of the power and torque.

But for track racing, it throws off the weight distibution and isnt something that you can help because its much heavier than the B-series.

I'm sure someone will correct me here if I'm not accurate. But the B20 as found in things like the CRV is not a Vtec enabled motor. People use the block in conjunction with a B16/18 head to create a Frankenstein engine, which are pretty good for both torque and power.

yup they are find in crv's...sposed to be very torquey as well wit the 6b or 8c head on

the autotensioner is a weak point on the engine and so is the Head gasket, std bhp should be 212. Some ATR owners but the manual tensioner in from the prelude.

what do they think of the engine and what would they have done diff if they were to do it again ?did they both usete H2B system ?

it would be a daily drive :) but i would also like to take it out on the track days if i could it is only 27kg heavier then the b-series

is ther many engine mods avaible like cam etc................

it is a good set up for a eg or a ek but it aint something i would be doing to an ek9 prob the best handling front wheel drive car money can buy. the only other engine i would put in a ek9 is a b18c. i know a boy that has a crv 20 bottom end with a b16a head and is awsume loads of torque

27kgs is a lot for weight distirbution throw off. remeber that a K20A is 10kgs lighter than B-series with better power than a H22. This would be the ultimate and better than a H22 in modding aspects.
