I have just gone through 3 litres of oil in less than a month.... i got the car last month, gave it a full service, new oem filter and castrol 5w30 full syn oil...

was having a race to the permitted road speed limit :p with a passat there the other day and it wouldnt vtec poperly it was going in and out of vtec... and the LAST thing that was coming to my mind was it being oil because i only changed the oil less than 4 weeks ago and levels were fine. but low and behold, pulled into a car park and there wasnt a drop in it....

it has been a small bit smokey in vtec but nothing major like.. and there is 100% no leaks as i always park it on dry ground and check underneath when i drive off and i have had it up on a ramp about 4 times replacing things like bushes and drop links gaiters etc.

is this something i should be really worried about?

Sounds like the engine is deffinatly burning oil which means its worn. You need to find out if its rings or valve stems

it was lying up for about 3 months before i put it back on the road, someone also said the oil im using is quite thin, to try something like 10w40.

I'm having a similar problem with the EP3 but not quite as bad :(

I'd change to motul 6100 10w40 and see how ye get on. Thats what I use and its alot better than when I used mobil or castrol. That castrol is to light for honda engines especially 5w30.

Do a compression test aswell and see what comes back.

U should check ur oil and water daily.. its the first thing i do before i drive mine..

is there much smoke on v-tec? and comen down on the rev's??
wat size of engine u run'n??

do you know anywhere around that does this bud?

its just a standard b18Cr, yeah there is a bit of smoke like in high revvin vtec

You can buy one for around £30. Once you've done the test once to get base figures you can drop some oil down the bores and if the figures improve it'll be the piston rings.

worst case scenario, its piston rings, or its valves... anyone any idea what the cost would be for repairing?? am i looking at a full rebuild?
