After seeing the UK ek9.org trackday idea I think its time for another possible trackday/meet at Kirkistown, N.Ireland

We did this last year with a good turnout of quality machinery with some taking part in the trackskills trackday

The next date is August 17th so plenty of notice to get the car ready and clear the schedule for that Sunday.

I "Stephen" will be there in my 98 DC2 road legal track car and Ciaran "Ted777" will be there in his B18 EK race car

Ah man, I'm planning the September one I think.

Hope there's a good turnout for you guys :nice:

Duno if I'll have anything at this stage,if I've the skyline I might go

@ Kris, I will more than likely be there is September too, was at the last one and only got 1 dry run then it rained the rest of the day so hoping for a dry day in August

@Phill yea bring whatever you have, all makes welcome lol

The s2000 engined E30 BMW should be there now with a rotrex supercharger kit!

Also the yellow M3 which we used to have great battles with but he's a bit quicker now with slicks, new diff and final drive

How much is the day and what's noise restrictions like at the track? Would be keen

Its £105 for the full day, I run a full spoon system with non-baffled decat and have no problems with noise

What system are you running?

That's alright I suppose eh!
I've a full Apexi N1 with Decat not sure on the Db

The apexi can be loud, is it a baffled decat as that can help reduce noise?

Elchunk ran a full apexi n1 last year iirc

I ran a full j's racing system on my teg it was loud so you should be ok lad

It's actually his old system that I'm running now so that gives me piece of mind :nice:

It was still prob the loudest Honda there on the day lol

Ha ha ha, I had the Skunk2 megapower R on at the trackday last year. The Apexi is quiet compared to it! The only things louder than me last year where the westfields. Im game but im going to need my gearbox sorted out before i can go at it. Might drop the box out tomorrow and get it opened. Stephen if your still up for helping me out that would be awesome! I would also like to say dont be thinking you need mad track tires for the day. I ran Budget hankooks last year and was going round fine on them, first corner flat out is also mega fun! :D

Ah right it was loud but sounded great!

No problem bud, if you need the box built just give me a shout! You should have the Box out in around 2 hours taking your time and same on the way in again. Hondas are very enjoyable to work at compared to any other car that I have owned :)

Your right, brakes are more important than tyres IMO as you would cook a set of road pads after a few laps so something like ds2500, mintex m1144/m1155, yellowstuff or carbon Lorraine etc are highly recommended as Kirkistown has 2 very quick straights and is hard on brakes. Semi slicks will mean more grip and quicker lap times though

My new exhaust for my built b18 is a skunk2 megapower rr it'll be fun although won't be this session it'll be out I'd think,Stephen what sort of tyre pressure were you running on your liner

Lookin forward to this alright! Feels like a lifetime since I've been out!

Looking forward to seeing the BUILT b18 going at kirky again, you didn't really get much use out of it after all the money spent on it in the first place so its good to see your going to drop it into something again for some track fun!

I was using AD08r tyres on the skyline and started with around 25psi cold which went up to about 32psi warm, it gripped and handled a lot better than I thought and RWD wasn't as scary as I expected with all the space you have on the track

It will be good to see you out again mate, it's been too long since we've had a vtec battle!!

Pretty annoyed now seeing this has gathered a fair bit of interest! :(.

But, yeh try make the September one Stephen, I'll be back in Ireland for my birthday around that time anyway with the teg to lock it away for the winter.

Been running my last 3 outings on Hankook RS2's and Mugen street suspension and I'm tired of it on track, Looking forward to getting my coilovers in and 888's threw on for the last session of the year for the DC2 :nice:.

How is this track for media? Like any good spots to get some pictures from?
