I bought this EJ9, back in early August. Its my second one, so hopefully I have better luck this time around :p

The day I bought it.

I've been planning away since :) I've a few goodies, but the most important thing I have to do is get it on the road :p New trailing arm bushes bought. Replacement driveshaft, to fix the CV joint issue. Engine light is on, so I still need to diagnose the car and find out what's wrong :p

I've my Takata harness from my old EF, an EK4 boot spoiler, a set of Gram Light 57C's, and a Spoon spoiler on the way :p

Plans:
1. Diagnose the car
2. Fit the Gram Lights, as my current set of wheels have two slow punctures.
3. Fit the trailing arm bushes and driveshaft.
4. Enjoy it.
5. MORE PARTS!

Everything else is kinda self-explanatory LOL.

Had some nice weather today, so thought I'd be productive. Took off the Mugen spoiler, thinking I could fit the Spoon one today, but it turns out a lot of hardware is missing! Taped up the holes, so no water leaks through until I get some threaded nuts.

Removed the novelty sticker and paint came off with it. Looks like the boot will need a respray :p

Attempted taking off the skirts. Lifted them up slightly, so I could see the jacking point. F**king thing falls off haha. I inspected it and found that chewing gum (or something like it) was used to hold them in place :p The workmanship of this car continues to impress me... The skirts were rubbing on the body, so more respraying will be needed...

Got the car up in the air and off the 17" wheels went. They had to be off for me to access the screws on the rear arch. Turns out the screws are rusted in. Great! I'll probably have to drill them out another day. Threw on the Daihatsu wheels, so the car could roll. Lug nuts were stripped, so they need replacing :(

The rear light seals went, so water was getting collected in the boot. That then made the whole interior mouldy :( Steam-cleaned it and did my best. These aren't things I look forward to, but it has to be done :)

Don't give up mate keep at it ul get there in the end :nice:
Its annoying, having these problems the previous owner left me with. At this stage, I might as well get a full respray :p

Will have OEM skirts in a few days, so thats something to look forward to.

The goal this year :p

Nice plans dude should be cool when done that a genuine spoon spoiler?

No photos because the weather has been shocking lately.

Got myself a pair of OEM skirts and a Type R front lip :) I'll update again, once the weather is better.

Not really an update... More so explaining my situation right now :p

This is what my boot looks like right now haha. My newly acquired Type R front lip and skirts will need to be painted before I get them fitted, but they're not first priority.

I've a serious lack of tools, so this is all I've done today :p Took off the Mugen front lip and thats it haha. I'll be needing a new front bumper because I'm not going to run fogs on the car.

The front and rear lights are getting sorted.

I can't really do much else, as I've mentioned already, I've a lack of tools. To get it to Tuning Factory, I'd need to swap the wheels to the Rays Gram Lights 57C's because right now, the Daihatsu wheels are a bit dodgy. I can't swap them over because the lug nuts are f**ked (I can still take them off, but they can't be used properly).

So now I'm trying to source a new set of lug nuts. Only then can I swap the wheels and drive it down to the garage, and get the essentials fitted (Brand new trailing arm bushes and driveshaft).

At it again...

The skirt literally fell off and I was left with this s**t... Whoever did this, you're a c**t!

Just showing what I have to work with :p Serious lack of tools haha.

This car didn't even have it's original jack :p I also had to scavenge from the mother's Insight for tools.

This is how she sits now. In a sad state, but all in time. Still trying to find standard lights :p

Gonna have to tackle this with a blade :( Its a mixture of foam and hard rubber.

Tow hook and rear lip are going.

The current lug nuts are stripped and actually melted? :p Not risking my Gram Lights getting stuck. Ordered some BWR lug nuts, which should be here next week :)

Managed to find a SiR grille, which I will be picking up on the weekend. Yes!

The skirts, Mugen lip, taillights and front bumper are going to a new home. Hopefully things go as planned :)

Those sills look remarkably clean for a UK car! I'd strongly recommend treating them with some waxoyl or something similar

I didn't even know it was English until I bought it and checked the logbook haha.

Inspected the car and there's rust on the paint, rather than the underside. Then again... The skirts were basically a shield haha.

Car was in the UK for a few years I think. Will check...

It has been in the UK up until 2010 haha. I honestly thought 5 years :p I'm amazed at the condition haha.

Went shopping for a SiR grille today ;) New parts coming in this week as well! Things are looking up :)

Fair play to you mate. Bringing the car back from the 'horrifically modified dead' of you will.

Thanks mate! I do try. I'm guessing it was made that way before it came to Ireland, because the 'modified' scene is still big over in the UK, right?

oh my...I really hope you didnt pay too much for that!

I'm guessing you have Halfords in ireland? Get yourself one of their cheapy socket sets, have majority of things you need to take a car apart :)
