Hi All,

Whats the best power to pound upgrades for the ek9? I don't want to through loads of cash at it but what is the most power upgrades for the smallest amount of cash?.

Thanks,
Darren

My k-swap has cost me about a grand with only tuning left to go. Should work out pretty good hp/£

Really depends on where you want to go with the car?
You wont get much out of the car without a lot of cash. Honda did a pretty gd job of squeesing as much as they could from the 1.6.
you may see some throttle responce and minor gains from breathing mods. Even decent set ups of this nature can cost over £1k
If your not happy with the power of your car maybe its time to change. "Power gain' and 'smallest cash' dont really go hand in hand.
But to answer your question i would say some beathing mods. Exhaust, intake etc and a remap would be the biggest bang for your buck.

Handling mods are much better for improvement per pound....

If you're looking for more power swap the engine, turbo it or get a different car-- none of it cheap. Don't waste your money on minor upgrades of the B16B, it's so highly strung that without spending thousands you'll find it hard to make it any quicker. I have breathing mods, good for the noise but not worth the power gains imho as there's so little to be gained. Best way of making the car faster is to reduce weight - but that may not be feasible for you if it's your daily and you don't fancy driving around with no interior, ABS or aircon. If you want the car to feel quicker get a lighter flywheel, it will make it pick up the revs better and is cheap to buy. However the best investment for any car is a good set of tyres (and no, T1Rs are not an example of a good tyre).

thanks for the info lads, bought an exhaust and filter which torque gt have already so that will do going by the advice.

am still waiting to collect the car just need dvla to send my docs and I can pick it up :D mega excited!

will be selling it in 3 months time anyway haha

So you imported it through Torque GT but are selling it after 3 months?

As said, You aint gonna gain much for little money unless you sold the B16B and stuck in a B18C.

I have 2 boys so my audi is my main car and having a ek9 isn't practical hahah

I think a lot of us have said that lol

What sort of money are they going for now imported?

So ur buying a fresh import.. modding it at more expense. Then selling it in 3 months at quite a big loss i imagine. For a bit of fun? Are you insane?

Always wanted one so thought I would treat myself :D am sure I will get what I have paid for it back if I lose £500 no big deal

It's a long wait to only have it a couple months. Never know you might catch the bug!
