Yeah I'm pretty sure it was a peice of piston. I crushed it and it crumbled like cast metal would.
Ordered a new pickup pipe aswell.
I'll flush it out with option one. Fr the cost of afew filters and some oil it's worth a shot.
Option 2 is likely To happen over next winter anyway
Got two of the filters open. One I know isn't the filter im after so tossed it.
BOTH filters have metal caught in the OUTER filter mesh but none in the INNER mesh.
What's up with that? As far as I'm aware the oil comes up the centre of the filter and out the edges right?
Can it even work backwards?
Surely I'd have it on the inside aswell.
Yeah I googled it shortly after.
Just got to hope that whatever caused the metal to be there wasn't made by the engine itself.
Otherwise it'll just keep eating pumps...
You are on the right track now!!!
Clean clean and clean more to try and flush anything that might be left. Hats off to you and good luck with getting up and running again.
I open most all of my filters...im just weird like that.
I am a nurse and everyday i flush veins lol I see that my 9 will be like a baby. Always give good care as it was human body Maybe what you need Jesse is be patient aand before turbocharge an high compression engine as is B16B... spend some good money to forge your engine. I am a kind of a beginer but just trying to help and give some advice as i would like to receive!
