Hi, does anyone know if it's possible to use accord type r springs on a ek?
I'm thinking of doing an F23 swap but I really don't know what to use for suspension.
I was thinking of dc2 springs with bilstein b6 but feedback on itr forum is that h22 dc2 with stock springs handle like crap. So now I'm thinking accord type r spring at the front and dc2 at the back possibly with b8 shocks.

So will the accord springs fit?
Is there a better option?

Goal is stock ride hight, good handling and confortable ride.

Thanks, Pedro

Any advice?
If you are thinking that there's tons of h22 civic with coilovers and that I should be aware of that, I am.
I would like to avoid the "coilover" route to keep stock appearance.

In alternative does anybody know the spring rate of the mb7 (civic 98 2.0 diesel)?
Might be the perfect candidate but I'm unable to find the specs of it.

Look into MG ZS front springs .The ZS 120 springs are around 7K and lower the ek about 3cm depending of engine weight offcourse. The ZS 180 has a V6 engine in it and has even stiffer springs .So one of those should work .
You could use the entire shock damper and spring of the ZS ,the shock absorbers are shortened from factory .If you're going to use the springs you should also use aftermarket shocks ,Koni yellow ,billstein,...

Hi mate , thanks for the reply , I've been looking at those , but can't find actual spring rate and length . do you happen to know the weight of the Rover V6 Engine+gearbox vs Honda F22/23+gearbox ?
I've find someone in the forum with ZS springs and shocks , and was interested in the combo but can't seem to find shocks anywhere do you know where to find them ?

I never found actual springrates of them either but i compared them with my spoon lowering springs and my oem springs and they are much stiffer and about the same length as spoon progressive lowering springs.
I and others also counted the windings and measured the thickness of the spring wire and calculated that they are aprox 7k .
The zs 120 engine ( 1.8L K series) is aprox 130kg with transmission And the ZS 180 V6 engine is heavier then that and also uses firmer springs.
I think the V6 engine ( ZS180 ) is about the same weight as the F23/H22.
You can look on the rimmerbros website ,there you can find all the part numbers.

MG ZS 120 front springs is part number REB000621 this is a set of 2 springs and cost £72.But you might find them cheaper elsewhere.
MG ZS 180 Front springs is part number REB000630 This is for 1 spring ,currently not available at rimmerbros but you might find them elsewhere.
MG Zs 120 shocks are part number RNB000360 (left) and RNB000320 (right)
MG ZS 180 shocks are part number RNB000370 (left) and RNB000330 ( right) .

Dan (NLek) had those springs and shocks on his EK 4door.

Ps : i've had oem Prelude front springs here and those springs where softer and longer then the MG ZS 120 springs.

I can confirm to all what HondaNickx said. They are as sporty as OEM can get if you ask me, I meanwhile got them removed from my car because we got a baby and my wifes drive the car now mostly, here are they:

And next to a stock Type R DC2 unit (Right):
