Aaron's K20 EK (UPDATED)

Me too man, I like to be a bit different! They will be colour coded, I plan on having the whole car sprayed at some point so right now im just gathering parts and not in too much of a rush to get anything sprayed as of yet :blinx:

Sweet mate staying silver or full colour change?

Had sometime to myself this week, makes a change. Decided to use the time wisely and set about working on the car. Been putting off spraying the rear for long enough, I enjoy painting but hate the prep (dont we all). Knowing it was going to be painful, cold and dark I doubled up a few layers and cracked on!

Plenty of this horrible residue to get rid of, bit of persistence and it was starting to come away.

Apologies about the photo quality, lighting was a bit crazy apparently..

A few photos I took before packing away for the day, I did do a bit more touching up etc but didnt take any other photos. Ill give it another coat of paint tomorrow and then ready for lacquer. Quite pleased that its looking much better than before, not hard though

Also decided to spray the SiR grille, bought it ready to paint apparently but it was the thinnest coat of primer ive ever seen so that came off and we started fresh. Find myself getting carried away and not taking enough photos it seems but this is what I was dealing with.

I like it, different!

Got this for a bargain price the other day, throttle body is useless to me but the IACV I needed and it still has a map sensor and TPS on it too. Need to give it a clean and get it fitted, should be the last item I need engine wise.

Looking sweet mate! :nice: think you'll change the air intake or leave it for now? I remember Jcal jesse saying suffering from heat soak makes quite a difference so could maybe route the filter somewhere

Cheers man! Ill change it at some point, either drill and bigger hole and run it by the washer bottle or tuck it under the chassis leg. Yeah I saw a big thing on that a while back, made a big difference too ay!

Nice work, what did you use to clean up the rear? A wire brush?
Thanks mate, wire wheel drill piece worked a treat, amongst using a hammer for the sound deadening etc

It’s come up really well. Thinking I might have to have a try at doing mine aswell. Makes such a difference.

Love this machine me! Is that a carbon bonnet?
Thanks bud, yeah its a carbon First molding/Js Racing bonnnet, been sprayed because the lacquer had gone funny and a few marks had to be filled etc, it will eventually be sorted properly and sprayed to match the colour of the car when it gets resprayed.

Love it mate whats the fitment like?
Fitment is perfect, just as you would expect from Js. I need to align it properly but im constantly doing other things and ill probably align all the front end anyway before I bring it out :nice:

Sweet mate been thinking about getting one! Have you tucked your coolant tank becore?

They're not cheap lol, luckily got mine from a car that was imported but with import etc its a big bill! Tucked the overflow down under the intake, made a bracket fitted it to the centre section under the slam panel and kept the OEM bracket to bolt onto it. Then ran the overflow pipe between the coolant hose and slam panel :nice:
