I took the front wings off to see what it's like, driver's side has a little bit of surface rust, passenger side has some but not as much, for some odd reason the passenger side is alot cleaner then the drivers side in general lol, maybe the drivers side was parked next to a tree or next to a drain or something, looks like alot more water has been around the drivers side.

Should just be able to grind it off and rust treat it.

Time to remove the sound deadening!

Bought a few cans of MOTIP Freezer spray, its basically dry ice in a can, cheaper and works alot better!

All you gotta do is spray the sound deadening, give it a couple of seconds and then get a hammer or mallet and smack it lol, and the sound deadening is off!

Really clean job, no tiny bits left over or anything, I got the whole Interior done in about an hour lol.

Unfortunately I found a couple of rust spots! One behind the driver seat, just Infront of the seam seal, and the other in the drivers footwell next to a grommet.

I also noticed that the sound deadening holds alot of water underneath, so I'm probably not going to put any back in!

Still need to get pics of the car once it's cleaned up from inside, might even weigh the sound deadening and see how much I've taken out

Finally got some spare time, so I got my arches & sills and took them down to the unit and gave them a "MOCK" up lol

They aren't sat on the car properly that's why the mouldings and sills don't look flush, but they are good fitment.

Can't wait to strip it and make some progress!

Managed to get my self a Genuine Spoon N1 axle back.

Needs a little clean and a quick polish.

Not sure if I'll keep it yet as I had a Spoon N1 on my Jordan, but it'll be good for now.

So today I got some time to go down to the unit, cleaned out all of the sound deadening I took off.

Probably weighed about 4-5kg I wreckon maybe a little more

The freezer spray was pretty good, alot of the sound deadening came off in big pieces like this...

FB_IMG_1569950268025.jpg

I probably won't be putting any sound deadening back in the car, I found some water hiding under the sound deadening in the drivers foot well.

Also found 2 spots of rust again in the drivers foot well next to the grommets, not sure why the drivers side of the car has seen better days compared to the passenger side.

The way I found the rust was funny  I sprayed a **** tonne of spray and I got my hammer and hit the areas of the sound deadening, and I just heard something crumble, I took the sound deadening off and seen a spot of rust, the spray freezes everything and weakens it lol which is something I should have kept in mind :lol:kind of glad that I found it tho, atleast It can get dealt with.

Alot of what you cans see in the pics is just some sort of rusty water stain that you can scrape away (drivers footwell) and the rest of the interior looks terrible, will get around to that too.

Looks alot worse than what it is, looks like some sort of rusty water stain, that you can scrape off, the actual rust is in the corner!

So I've been doing some digging and I've been trying to find as much history of the EG6 as I can, I already know most of the history of the car whilst it's been in England, I was after some info from when it was in Japan.

I rang Honda in Japan at stupid o' clock in the morning and tried to hustle some info out of them, using Google translate to speak to them was the best I could do, many of them found it hilarious lmao

Anyways I asked a few people , and it turns out you can do an online check with the "MLID" which is the Japanese DVLA.

I wanted to know if the car was accident free in Japan, what area it was from in Japan and also I knew it was a car from 1995, I just wanted to know what month, simply because I'm born in '95:lol::lol::lol:

So I got a detailed report emailed to me.

The car was first registered in Japan April '95, and it lived in a place called "Adachi" which is pretty much the centre of Tokyo

The car also came back straight and HPI clear, which is good to hear.

You should have the hornets by now, and you've got a sneak peak before everyone else then lol

You should get a build thread going too, don't think I've seen your Jordan
Was doing it as you posted that lol

I'll have a look now

A friend of mine has a Toyota Ipsum ( Toyota Picnic JDM import) with some mechanical issue, his had it parked up for over a year.

I realised it had the plastic number plate tabs, that I need.

So like a nice guy he is, he let me nick them lol

They fit perfectly in the EG6 JDM bootlid
