yo i had similar problem recently. I took my car to my friends garage and he took the VSS out and had a look, nothing wrong and i told him to do ecu reset and then afterwards everything was fine. Might be just a loose connections or ecu gone funny. If that don't work maybe the VSS is buggered.

check the vss sensor on the gearbox. Take it out, have a look for any damage or anything and put it back in and try an ecu reset. I had a similar problem before. Also make sure the VSS is the right one for the gear box and not the one from the previous gearbox

I had some bad luck when I first got my EK9 too. Just people hit and running me, reversing into me, ppl can't park and end up scratching my car etc. So annoying!

Mine fuel cuts at 6 o'clock.position so i guess that must be around 125mph there
