Probably either the top or bottom ball joints, one of them has gone dry, really common fault done loads of them. If you have a good local factors you should be able to buy just the joints and press out the old ones and new in.

Broken piston ring or badly scored bore, some times just a glazed bore caused by running in using synthetic oil.

Exactly that's my point !!!! We bought an b16b engine just before Christmas for £600 and a S4c £250, if you add £400 for a pair of good recaro's and max £1000 for exhaust, lights & other parts that makes a bare shell worth even more !!!!! It's not about chancers, more about buyers...

If a complete car in good condition sells for between £5000- £6000, a complete engine £1500 max, a s4c £400 max, then that would make a rolling shell worth £3000-£4000. In reality I don't think that anyone would pay that, but £2000 -£3000 would be a realistic price for a good example.
