DM's EK9

This is my kind of EK9.

Looks great Dave. Had a wee street view look at that Cheddar Gorge road, perfect for this type of car. Must be a delight down those roads!

Yeah great road for this little motor, got to go early morning, late evening or in the winter as way too many folk, cars and motorbikes otherwise......:angry2:

You been out much?

I've been out on quite a few evening runs down my favourite B-roads. I haven't done anything new since last year; the car is pretty much how I want it.

Other than that, I have a trackday on Knockhill next month :nice:

Nice :nice:....No need to change anything if you are happy...

Have a good day, look after the motor but give it everything! :drive:

Looks great chap.

Maybe a baffled sump if you get into track days. I chucked a Mugen one mine.

Not updated in a while so here goes ......loved every minute of driving the car this summer!
Got some rear numberplate LEDs to sharpen it up at the back
Before:

After:

They are actually not so blue with the naked eye but look nice and crisp over the filament bulbs :nice:

The rear badge was tired when the car arrived last year, so it was a job on the list....
Removed the old and cleaned up, there was some slight paint removal from possibly a previous replacement of badge:

So i decided that needs some touch up to seal before placement of new badge:

Comparison of new versus old:

Happy with the outcome, back of car looks refreshed :nice::

Thanks for looking!:))

long overdue update.
Parked the '9 on my parents drive at the end of October, just before the council starting 'gritting', started a few times since, few short runs on minor non salted roads after heavy rain. Avoiding bad weather and salt not the only reason for parking her up....having building work done at home and garage being re-built.....going for insulated, heating and polished concrete floor if I can afford it after everything else....:x:
I secured some lovely low mileage original Red Recaros last summer but no rails, was after some clean rails so I could replace my slightly worn set up and sell my recaros to my lad with rails so refresh mine and also help the lad out :gav:
After great length managed to get a pair of really clean rails so will look to fit this when the weather improves or garage completed.... will post pics later....

Got some belated pics from T GT of the Dinitrol treatment the car got when it was imported.
So just to advise, I went for an upgrade with arch liners out, bumpers off, sills removed, exhaust and shields off, etc.....
anyway let the pictures do the talking:

Sills off

Cavity wax treatment with inhibitors:

Then thixotropic under-sealant:

Pleased with the work and how its holding up a year later, will look to get it checked and refreshed if necessary next year, though should be completely ok as not used in the winter.
Cant wait for spring so I can get back behind the wheel...
thanks for looking :))

Looks good, hope it's holding up alright for you,

Garage plans sound good!

Now thats a clean EK9... great to see them still in this condition being well looked after :)

Stunning example!
Thanks both!

much appreciated, try to keep her clean and close to OEM....and most important of all enjoy diving her!

few consumables to collect from the local Honda dealership, mundane stuff but i'll update here soon.....:nice:

So long time since i have updated! The 9 was parked up at my parents house for the winter, started every so often and kept clean......
So when frosts had long gone, a good clean and eventually sorting some original Ek9 rails which took an absolute age, gave my seats to my lad for his Ek4 :gav:and put my low mileage pair of clean Recaros in..
I also took the opportunity to remove the rear seat etc and have a good clean....pics below:

And with the front in, which I am really pleased with, passenger seat the same:

Before Japfest i got a few things sorted
Rear drop links and distributor oil seal:

The rest of my time busy with work and getting project garage/ balcony done, had the new garage floor power floated so its smooooothhhh!....but looking forward to parking up the 9 inside for the first time :))
Oh and the other little snippet of news....taken up Powermotoring!....already done my 4th flight, awesome....

Took the 9 for a spin the other day and huge grin as usual!
Will post more pics of japfest and the 9 soon.

Thanks for looking :nice:

Thanks @Saqib :nice:

Edit for above post: Paramotoring.....not Powermotoring, damn auto correct!

Anyway a few more pics:

Still yet to sort pics from Japfest....will get on to TGT...
Thanks folks!:)

Long overdue update!
Never did receive any decent pics from Japfest or TGT...never mind.
Had to change disks and pads after a few (hot) parade laps at Japfest as discs warped, so went for Miltech discs and Ferodo Racing pads.....nice setup and loads of stopping power - brake dust is not as bad as I thought it would be...
Done lots less miles in the car this summer as had the re-build of the garage going on and car was parked at my parents.
Garage project was get rid of old pre-fab garage and build up to the house getting more space and insulted.....haven't added heating yet but thinking of getting some electric rads in there.
Old garage:

No more winters outside and nicely lit so I can get to work over the winter with a good polish and finishing wax.
She sailed through the MOT last week :nice:
Still thoroughly enjoy driving the little beauty and pleased to see the prices in Japan are still creeping up! :))
