Ive just bought some shortened front drop forks off a civic eg will these fit a 97 ej9 (ek) ? Ive searched and searched but some people say they do and some say they dont i think civic eks 98> made a wider front for iirc.

Anyone be kind enough to shed some light on this? And please tell me they do fit or if they need modifying

Thanks

No mate they won't. I did the same long ago and they're not wide enough to fit over the arm.
You need ek ones. Also be sure that they're welded up properly as you don't want those failing on you. USA make some sweet billet ones called Mpc forks I think but not sure on price

Ahhhh sick no way haha cheers for letting me know bro. Yeah i seen them online canny price for the set $400

Not cheap yeah lol some awesome products coming out of the states, if you can justify spending the amount anyway. I couldn't find any drop forks in the end, so I ended up just getting some good coilovers and extended lower ball joints, which both lowered the car but improved the geometry and alignment setup. The extended ball joints dropped it like another 0.5 inch or so.

They could possibly fit, it appears that the EJ6/8, EK1/3/(maybe 4) uses a 2 piece lower control arm from the EG/DC chassis, this is what I have found on my EJ6 Coupe and others while looking into it

I’ve bought an EK9 front anti-roll bar and it won’t fit my EJ6 front lower control arms, as the drop link mount points are different since the their off a EG/DC. So I needed to buy EK9 / EM1 (Si in the states) lower control arms to allow it to fit, also needed EK9 / EM1 Si front suspension forks are wider allowing them to fit on the 1 piece lower control arm

Are your front lower control arms one piece (pressed steel) or two piece (cast)?

Hmm interesting! I have an em1 myself and the eg forks definitely didn't fit. Didn't know ej6 had smaller arms

Hmm not too sure mate one piece i think iirc

Curious to know, were your front lower control arms one piece?

Cool, so if you ever buy an EK9 anti roll bar it should fit straight on if the mounting points are there for drop links. Also with the bushes/brackets to suit.....unlike mine
