Hey folks,

Writing from Dublin, I have been reading this forum for a long time and got some great info over the years so thank you very much.
I have had a lot of hondas over the years every single generation since EF (except 8g I don't like those at all), went to diesel with 9g, I like the engine just enough but I am not impressed with chassis at all, except for magic seats those can be useful and very practical at times, at the cost of independent suspension ofc.
2 cars in particular stick in my mind and I totally regret selling both of them, one was '92 eg sir-s with 41k kms from new, I was the first owner since import and it had only one owner in Japan, this thing was like a brand new car every single bolt was marked with yellow marker never seen a wrench, every cable shiny new, interior still smelled like new car. Right now I dont know why I sold that car. The other was 2000 ek4 Exclusive 4dr for Malaysian market, 49k kms again like a brand new car, FSH with stamped book, full leather interior with electric and heated seats, nice oem sound system, nice set of oem wheels never seen wheels like that before, some gold/biege colour never seen that before neither, eudm's have similar colour but not the same shade. It had oem r front lip and type r like rear one with jdm tail lights like vi-rs but chrome grill. Even though it was years ago I find myself crying over it at night when wife isn't watching :). I will try powering an old hard disc, have a lot pics of those cars on it.

So, naturally, years later I had to go back to another ek/ej chassis, too bad honda never made 4dr ek9 like they did with db8 teg. Ofc ya cant get a clean one now days, all ruined and/or high mileage/rust. Several month later I find 2000 4dr ej9 with 49k miles this time (uk clocks), navy not my favorite colour but looks decent polished, one lady owner for 15 years, she bought it in 2000 drove it 15 years, 3k+ miles a year and serviced it at same dealership every year, every single stamp in the book, all dealership stickers still there keyring etc. She traded it back to same dealership in 2015 and took out a new jazz. Dealership were going to scrap it ofc, tards, but main mechanic in there wouldn't let it go and took it home with him. He has 7 or 8 cars all honda but still kept this civic, held it for 3 years and put about 600 miles on it since 2015. I bought it a year ago of him on the same day he advertised it, friday "you better come down today if you can, several chavs rang me already they want to do stuff to it they all coming down tomorrow morning..." so I did, got it for peanuts too. Haven't done anything to it yet, collecting few bits here and there, I find it very hard to get new OEM stuff like rear 22mm arb for ek9 or handbrake cables for 4dr disc brakes etc. Fun times, I actually enjoy driving it as is with its mighty 75 bhp, much nicer than 9g, I drive it daily now gave the other one to her. Interesting thing is she prefers ej9 too on Dublin streets over that horrible beam suspension. Ofc 9g is better on motorways due to all that tq on low rpm, but k series will sort that out xD.

Anyway, I see I got carried away again, my apologies for the essay

Chat to you later

8th gen are very marmite, I hated them and ended up getting one. I despise those mugen spoilers though!

Thank you

I totally agree actually, I have seen a few impressive builds on civicinfo and they do look good, its just that rear beam suspension that drives me nuts on less than perfect roads which over here means 99% of the roads, and I cant get over that... maybe its of psychological nature :p
