Do holes in your rear bumper really make you faster?

no its not contradictive, acceleration is a measure of how quickly you reach a certain velocity or point, top speed is not! top speed is the maximum velocity that can be reached, look at some of those cars that do the land speed records, their acceleration isnt anything massively impressive yet...

Do holes in your rear bumper really make you faster?

you wont notice any difference in acceleration, well you shouldnt, its just the top end speed would in theory be greater due to less of a 'parachute' effect being created by the bumper as air passes under the car and travels up into the recess in front of the bumper. Drilling holes in it might...

    Weight saving with compromise

if you're going to do a job, do it right! rip it all out, no point stripping half of the car out and then stopping. but personally i dont see the point in doing this if you're going to use this car everyday, its still only a road car and has been designed for the road, not the track. but...

Went to the drag strip today

all these times were set at different times of the year, at different locations, with different surfaces and with different drivers, there isn't any real constant between them apart from the distance travelled. but i keep coming back to the this, the driver is by far the biggest variable! we all...

Went to the drag strip today

there are so many variables when drag racing, having good tyres is not a great advantage, tyre grip, yes, has an initial advantage but it just creates more friction down the strip, thus slowing you down. Tyre pressures are far more important. air temperature, humidity, etc etc are all going to...
