Awesome build man. Loving your work.

Like the way you've attached you icooler too... might consider doing something similar with mine.

Thanks for the kind words chaps.

The new cross member I made as you can see in the pics has a mount for the bottom of the cooler but will also when finished will work as a traction bar, I have the plate to make the tabs but need a few more parts to finish the radius arms.

For anyone interested I may have a few parts for sale soon, aem epm, bdl cam gears, 11,000rpm auto meter tacho ($1000 new).

Got bored of looking at the engine in its natural silver so re painted it with a Matt black engine enamel.

Cut back the engine number and the benson signature with various wet and dry then buffed it up like a mirror

Got the front arches and most of the underbody painted, as I first thought there was no rust other than the light surface stuff where I had seam welded the shell

And a long last I have a complete wheel set for the car, 13x10 split weld racing for the front and 15x4.5 weld skinnies for the rear

Thanks people, really need to push on with it now as I have not had it on the road for 2.5-3 years!!!! I only drove it once, from where I brought it straight home and ripped it all apart!!!

Small update, while the wife was out I managed to squeeze all of the plastic parts and rubber bushes etc into the dish washer.

Most of the parts came out pretty damn clean, the washer bottle was a little more work to clean the inside but in the end looked like new.

Also managed to sort my ek9 steering rack out, i wanted to run without power steering but did not fany looping the lines and risk damaging the rack so set out to convert it the right way to a proper manual rack, the full write up can be seen in the how to and guides section. Here are a few of the pics though

Rack in the vise.

Rack stripped down.

The piston that needed removing.

Pinion stripped down.

Hoses removed and holes welded up.

Why have I only now just seen this thread! Great work!

Fantastic work mate, I really cannot wait for the day I watch a video of this bouncing of the limiter at 9000rpm down the 1/4 spooling its tits off.

Me neither, although it will be more like "bouncing off the limiter at 11,000rpm"

I feel as if I have passed a milestone with the car now, the engine and box are in the car for the first time.
