172 clio or 182 !

Just test drove a standard 182 with a rs192 exhaust system today and i thought to myself this would be a fantastic daily.

Enough low end poke to scoot around with good mpg and enough grunt when you floor it to put a smile on your face.

I also test drove a standard 197 and that for me has been closest thing to an ek9 i have found. Tight short 6 speed gearbox. Loves the revs and hard road suspension.

Suprised you thought that about a 197.

The mpg they return per the performance is a joke!

Not that ek9s are great on fuel,
Price you pay for the performance

More than likley.

Also, the synchromesh in the 197 gearboxes is made of Thorntons finest marshmallow.

But your not getting that much straight line performance compared to a 172? And that does 38 mpg...

It is such a pro of the 172 the economy. Not alot of hot hatch owners can report 35mpg+ from a quick small hatch.

I went from Glasgow to Newcastle and back in the silver 172 pictured and it done 398 miles to a tank. That included schooling a few dicks in BMW's aswell lol.

I shredded 70kg from mine!

******* LOL @ bumming the 197.

1240kg's with 25bhp of an advantage over the 172 with an extra 200kgs of weight? Settle down.

No arseholes would be ripped anywhere against a 172 Cup and any stock Civic no matter how much you love sushi and saki.

so i'm not alone on the 197 chassis being brilliant ..
oh and to your previous comment about standard civic's :secret: The Ek9 is a standard civic.. :D

Tbh mate i don't care how i sound here butr you seem like a complete utter prick who is only willing to listen to himself

It was a bit of light banter mate, no need to be so hostile :)

Also, rather than throw insults around, why not read a book?, get yourself well weathered with the English language maybe? I used to be angry, now i just feel pitty for the likes of yourself who has no grasp nor concept of life and how to speak to people!

Oh, and nice edit. Not sure 'fucktard' is an actual insult?

Chill! :)

your idea of light banter is not like mine then... It is you i found to be hostile first tbh.

"no grasp nor concept of life and how to speak to people".. It is you who originally spoke to me with no regard for what you said, so how you turned that around on me is completely beyond me.

Fucktard = http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=****-tard

= modern English for ******* retard.. However after you said light banter i withdraw that insult, can you understand from my point of view you were hostile to me giving a full opinion on the car.

I'm sorry mate, but if you think that's even possible you really are stupid, try using a GPS speedo and see what you actually get, I've seen pretty standard eg6's showing around 150mph on the clocks when the GPS is saying just over 130mph. Just because it's French does not mean it can break the laws of physics...

I used to have a phase 2 172 a few years back and I loved it. As said the driving position is a bit off but I managed with it. Nothing some aftermarket seats and rails doesn't fixed. Pretty fast aswell and handles good, just watch for lift off over-steer. I would take the whole 'oh it's french' with a pinch of salt tbh,I never had any problems with me in the year I had it. Probably joint most reliable car I've owned out of a list of 7

Including your Honda(s)?

Like i say, i've had four and never had any serious problems out with wear and tear. I'm not suggesting for a minute they're better than Honda what i am saying is they're no where near as bad as being suggested!
