Hey all,
I just got an ek9 an its v quick but i'd like to make it quicker:drive: I recently read in this months Max Power mag that this engin can be 'tweeked' to 220bhp. What kind of things do i need to do to increse the power to that? dose n e of you have an ek9 running at 220bhp?
Cheers Ashton:thanks:

lots of money needed.
exhaust
manifold
induction (maybe but std box is good)
cams
1.8 stroker kit
upgrade ecu

lots more biys and pieces aswell id say

would love to see what a 220bhp 9 feels like

You don't need to stroke it either. :naughty:
Try the following and 220 bhp is guaranteed(brand matters!!)
Air filter(short ram with a filter, brand doesn't matter )
Header(5Zigen or Toda even better)
Exhaust(Mugen twin loop)
Skunk2 Stage 2 cams and:
Cam gears
Valvespring & Retainers
68mm Throttle Body
Buddy Club gasket
Port & Polish
Apexi Power FC

Now, I think this is enough and just imagine to add a 4.78 FD, a set of lightened wheels and a stroker kit, that would be the cherry on the...............:p :nerv:

got the mugen exhaust just need the rest now. Wil a mugen air box an filter make n e differance or will n e other fome filter do the same job

Im building an ek9 track car with,
toda pistons,
jun con rods,
rebored to 1675cc,
7.5lb flywheel,
paddle clutch,
toda spec c cams cam gears springs etc,
ported head,
mugen 4 branch and twin loop backbox,
toda individual throttle bodies,
emerald ecu with a full engine rebuild been told to expect 220bhp at the wheels with the spec ill be running

ok, just realize that 220bhp is 187whp which is not that much, a good set of cams, raised compression, good exhaust, and tunning should get you there. if thats not enough to get you to 187whp then use the b18c crank/rods and you will definately be there.

very interested in your build stoo, who is doing it and who is tuning ? you wont see 200whp though with that setup, if you dont mind please keep me updated with your build, pm if you want

If its a track car, will you be getting a more aggressive LSD? A better option than looking for more power?
