Description/Condition:
I have owned this car for the past two years, originally purchased from Duncan of Fast Jap Cars as a bog standard N1 model fresh from Japan. Most of you know Duncan and the cars he has for sale, and Im sure he and anyone who has seen the car in person can vouch for how clean it actually is. Over the last 2 years I turned the car into my ideal ek9, and bought all the parts I wanted no expense spared. I hope you can see by the parts ive had for sale that I only used the best of parts, and only bought parts that could be removed and returned to standard eventually. The car is now returned to near standard minus a few parts that I have left on there. This is a genuine n1 race base, and is minus power steering, abs, air con, electric windows, air bags, tinted windows, aerial, clock, and has correct stickers inside the doors stating grey interior and champ white.

Over the two years, the car has been maintained meticulously as with all of my cars, and I hope friends and previous buyers from me can back me up on this. The car is serviced regularly, always with hamp filters and millers cfs 5w-40 oil. I always let my cars warm up properly before I even rev above 3k rpm, and always are left to cool down. This car was originally used daily (about 10 miles a day), but use has gradually dropped to the point where its driven every other day along side my other car, and never in the rain or snow. Over winter the car has been kept under an expensive all weather car cover, and is washed literally every weekend and waxed often. Food and drink are never consumed in the car, and the car is always parked on a drive.

The exterior of the car is in extremely good condition, with the only mark worth mentioning being on the driver’s side front wing. All panels are straight and true, and the paint has been maintained to the best of my ability. I have kept the exterior pretty much standard as I feel it was perfect from the factory. The rear arches are perfect and free from rust, rust is a pet hate of mine and I make sure to clean the arches regularly. As I have had the interior out, I can guarantee you that this is a completely rust free chassis, and the underside is immaculate. I have done so much work to this car myself, that I know it inside out, and I know it is 100% honest.

The interior has been returned to the standard n1 interior, and as you can see is super clean. The carpets are a little warn, but other than that it is spot on. Everything works, but seeing as electrics are at a very minimum, there is not much to go wrong! I can tell you that this interior can be taken out completely in under an hour, there is nothing to it.

I made sure to re underseal the arches as soon as I got the car. All of the suspension components have been on the car less than a year, and have covered less than 1000 miles. When I got the car all of the bushes felt a bit loose, hence the major overhaul of all the suspension components which essentially replaced all the bushes bar the front lower control arms. I replaced the suspension arms as it was simpler than having to remove and replace all of the bushes individually. All the original components will be supplied with the car. The car potentially weighs just over the tonne mark, and being so light the brakes are immense, I often forget how good they are until I get in another car. The disks and pads have plenty of life left in them.

The engine has been faultless since I have owned it, and have only ever have minor trouble with the usual b series faults, ie the distributor, main relay, rear light seals, but all of these have been changed. The IACV has been cleaned out regularly so the car idles great, and the car always runs at perfect temperature. I often run redex fuel system cleaner through the car, and the car is ALWAYS run on vpower. The car was serviced just a few weeks ago, including oil, filter, distributor cap and rotor arm, and fuel filter. The car has tax until march next year, and has an mot until june next year.

After all the work and time I have put into making this car what I wanted, it feels like a shame to put it back to standard and sell it, but as always, things change, and I needed something slightly more practical than the two cars I own now, and I need to free up some money for a deposit. If I had the money and the storage I would never be selling it, and would be putting it away as a collectable for when all the rubbish ones slowly rot away. I have all the receipts and history since ive owned it, along with quite an extensive list of Japanese service history too. This car would make an ideal daily driver for someone that maybe does not want to drive their normal ek9 daily, or would make a perfect base for a project like it was for me. Mechanically the car is spot on, and would not require anything, its just a perfect blank canvas to transform into what you want. Most people cant believe how clean the car is when they see it in person.

That looks great on the original steel wheels!

Do you have any paperwork to prove its a genuine race base? A different VIN number or anything?

^ im afraid not, as cool as it sounds, but i really do need to sell one car, not gain another :p

i sent over the vin plate to honda today, and did indeed confirm it listed as a '1998 EK9 civic type r RACE' which is cool to hear, and hopefully that puts a few minds at ease. i can provide people with a screen grab from hondas system, or the vin plate if they want to double check.
also found when the car was originally imported, it was an auction grade 4AA which is pretty damn good for a 13 year old car at the time (2011).
if people have any more questions, please give me a shout.]
many thanks
lloyd :)

When I imported this one it was totally stock apart from a rear brace. It is indeed MINT!

thanks for the kind words guys.
as i said, i do have all the original parts that have been replaced, so the car could be returned to 100% standard if the new owner wants to. :)

It's the only the hard race items and wheels that can be turned back to standard now isn't it? Cheers

yeh thats right :) the hardrace items were left on as the bushes are fresh unlike the ones in the original arms, but these could always be replaced and then put back on the car i guess.

bump as i have been away over xmas and have not been online!

price is now reduced to £6000, and i will include a do luck b pillar brace if the new owner wants it! car is sitting on my drive barely being used once a week, and is begging to be driven by a new owner :p

I know it's doubtful mate but if you ever consider breaking this, give me shout as I'd love the shell.

Just a heads up for those that may have been interested before.

I'll be putting her back to stock soon and up for sale.

I'll create a new thread in a few weeks.
