Description:

Selling my 2001 Japanese import cvt insight.
Unlike a UK CVT, these feature lean burn, which results in amazing economy!
I've managed 92mpg over a 110mile trip!
This matches UK manual car economy!

The car runs faultlessly. It starts fine, goes fine and achieves amazing economy.
It needs for nothing, just works as it should.
Showing around 95k miles.
MOT is til the end of May.

Within the last 500miles the car has had;
Correct OEM 0w20 Oil and OEM oil filter (drain plug washer also changed)
CVT oil changed (genuine OEM CVT oil used)
air filter cleaned (it looked like new!)
Cabin filter (again genuine honda)
Spark plugs (B plugs, again genuine honda. Correct indexed plugs)
New Bosch battery was fitted last week, the old Japanese battery was 5yrs plus old and I changed out of routine.
I also checked valve clearances and all are set to bang in middle of spec, I can talk anyone through this and probably have pictures with rocker cover off to proove I've dome this!
I'm an aircraft engineer, all work is carried out by myself to a high standard.
The car needs nothing, it just works as honda intended!
I have a few receipts from honda for previous oil changes and some service documents :)

As far as I know, battery is original. It could have been changed in japan pre import (came over 200. It works perfectly, discharges and charges as normal. Appears to regen and assist fine no signs of problems at all.

The car has a couple of small scuffs and scratches, but is very presentable.
The wheels have a bit of corrosion, I think they'd polish up okay and I may have a go before sale.
Drivers seat material is a bit worn, but no more than usual at this mileage.
Both drivers and passenger side honda OEM insight mats are present.
Car is fitted with a DAB radio and optional rear speakers fitted.
Also has air con!
Immobiliser is also fitted with certificate present.
Four Michelin Eco tyres are fitted in correct size and have LOADS of tread left.
Under the bonnet is also very clean!

Any questions, please ask - my email is jakescanes@yahoo.co.uk
One previous owner to me since import who was also an enthusiast.

I'm looking for £3250.
I believe this reflects the recent work having been done, and the quality of the car.
Cash talks, and I'd like the car sold. I'm open to sensible offers.
I'm a honda enthusiast, also having an accord and crv in the household.
Also a previous ek9 owners, now owned by tenz78 on here.

Thanks, jake

Also interested in part exs! Try me...:nice:

Pictures will be added later. :)

I can get some more when light tomorrow.

Cheers for positive comments.
Only weigh 850kg also!
Far bit of interest over on owners club but bad time to sell! :)

I could do with this gone,

£3k takes it.
Freshly serviced, all well and good :)

Bad time to sell maybe. I have one of these and they are amazing for eco motoring. I reckon I'm saving £2k a year in petrol compared to either the ek4 or dc2. They are actually quite fun to drive too, weighing not a lot and the motor gives you a nice torquey kick off the line (especially with a few tweaks to the motor control circuit). Brilliant little commuter cars.

Yeah, it is a bad time to sell.
But the price is quite reasonable I feel.
It was purchased for £5k at end of 2008!

I'll give it a week then put it on eBay

Try sticking it up over on CRX-UK. There's usually a fair amount of interest for these over there. I sold one to a member a few years ago and he loves it :)

These are quite rare, haven't seen one in ages! The problem is that the projected life for the battery is around 10 years and a new one is in the region of £2k. So factor that in and you are looking at spending 5k - you could almost have the newer Insight for that! The fact that it cost £5k at the end of 2008 means nothing, a car that was worth 5K at the end of 2008 might be worth £500 or £20000 now, it totally depends on the car in question. I love these but don't have spare 3k right now. Anyway, hope you can find a buyer soon!

I see your point :)
The new insight will never ever do 90mpg.
And this battery is functioning fine, like I say maybe it was replaced in japan?
I'm unsure, I just know the cars works as it should and obtains amazing economy!
I'll try crx UK.

Thanks for advice :)
