Hi all.

Hoping someone can shed some light on this. Got a JDM EP3 pre facelift. Have a horn that isn’t working. Checked fuse 7 in the engine bay. That’s okay. Removed the front bumper to reveal that both horns have been removed for some reason.

Found the plug for the horn on the N/S, tested for power when pressing the horn on the steering whee and no power is getting to the plug. I checked the opposite side but there isn’t a wire for the horn there.

Further digging around I found this harness that has been cut and stuffed into the O/S/F wing. It is routed on the drivers side but have no idea what it is for. A quick test of the wires and all of them were dead.

Can any tell me what this part of the harness is for? Is one of them wires for the horn? And what else I can check for the horn not working.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Very strange, The japanese have a tendency to fit aftermarket horns and these may have been removed or originals have been damaged at some point.

The wiring looks aftermarket to me though. I know the JDM EP3 uses the same ECU pin-out as the DC5, Unsure about fusebox and harness etc... if it's the same as a UKDM which it probably is, getting parts from a UK car would probably be the best idea. OEM steering wheel in car?

Yeh, OEM MOMO steering wheel fitted. I was thinking the originals have been taken out but it would of made sense to fit a different horn in its place. However, there isn’t so this is why I’m scratching my head with it. :angry2:

I have been told (and have acquired a none cut, full body loom) a UKDM harness is the same as the JDM ones. The seller told me that nothing should be routed outside of the engine bay unless someone has attamepted a wire tuck or something similar. Now it’s a matter of removing the wing and tracing back where them wires go. Wish me luck:x:
