Honda WTCC legend Gabriele Tarquini puts the 2015 Honda Civic Type R development model through its paces on the Nurburgring, pushing its 280bhp, turbo-charged 2.0 litre engine to its limit.

Thoughts? I'm pretty sure I can hear a blow off valve at 0:41. If this is the actual sound of the car I'm not hearing any VTEC also, unless of course the variable valve timing on this car is different

Sounds weird, I would miss the high rpm sound even though it's probably a lot faster than the previous models.

I think its going to be a great car. Just maybe not what we are used to from a Type R.

I have no interest in the car it's self, I am on the other hand looking forward to seeing this motor put in older gen honda's to see how it is.

I like it. It's different but change is good sometimes

With 280bhp it should be quick but judging from the video it seems to suffer from understeer but what fwd doesn't?
I hope it does well and there are big sales figures.
Future performance Hondas depend on it.

IMO this could be the best Type R since the EP3. I think Honda did a very good job with this one. I so want to drive it, seems like a lot of fun...

Engine sound is similar to gran turismo lol

I like the sound. If this comes to the US, which I am sure it will not, I would be in for picking one up.

It's a pretty cool vid. If the performance and price is right on here I think it could potentially be a better seller for honda than the EP3. I think it'll be a fair bit pricier but the fact it's 5dr and a little bit bigger will mean it'll have a bit of a wider appeal.

2015 seems to be shaping up for a big reboot for honda. Back in F1 with McLaren, NSX is back and hopefully THE performance fwd hatch of the generation. Definitely a bit of change in the corporate image it's been try to portray for the last 5-10 years.

dont care how fast this car is, it just sounds a bit poor to me

the ek9 legend is going to get ever greater

The reason none of us like it is because we are old timers that are into the 90's way,
This will be a huge seller for Honda I'm sure. Aslong as the chassis is good it won't matter about the sound so much.

I personally prefer balance over power, HOPEFULLY this car's handling can match the power or else I think it will be a bit of a let down. Hate to say it but from the sound and images/video's I have seen it looks as if it handles like an FN2..for Honda's sake I hope it doesn't.

Tama I can confirm also that it is NOT coming to the US, mainly because Honda/Acura america do not want to mess up the american chassis/SI sedan which I can imagine must be frustrating for you guys.

To be honest I'm not interested in this particular car, I'm just curious to see if Honda Japan release a JDM Type R after the release of this car (which they normally do) I think that's the car we should be looking forward to.

Any info on the motor set up ? All I see is another not desirable motor just like the k23 turbo that comes on the acura RDX.... But then again the car itself all around might be accepted by a lot of people...

I think it sounds quite meaty. That engine teamed with bolt one would sound pretty good I think. We just need to get use to the fact that there won't be anymore performance high revving engines anymore.
