I am considering one, not for race or track, more for daily driving.
Does anyone have experience with this power plant?
Any and all feedback is welcome.

Thank you in advance.

Here is the ride in question

My misses brother has one, manuel aswell very nice cars to drive but expect it to be wild wen you want it, and with the second turbo might surprise you aswell, the interior is all driver oriantated full dash faces the driver and they are a nice place to be. Boot space isnt very good and hardly any room in the rear seats unless your 5ft
. Hope this helps

Rossco155, Thank you.
Are there any engine related issues to be concerned about?

The one I am looking at is a 6speed manual.

Daily drive they say lol lol
You will have the itch of having a 1000+ hp monster once you have it in your hands...

This is not what I wanted to read because is confirms one of my weaknesses; modifying.

I first was thinking the MCoupe, but that too can be tempting to mod-out.
Supra seems to be a bit more rare and more difficult to mod-out as parts and way more scarce. Doubt I could afford to mod it much more than it already is, suspension, wheels, to name a few already done.

This would keep me from wanting to drive the hatchback if I can keep myself from modding it out.

I wouldn't know what to tell you other than what I already told you, because I never own one...but I do tell you this. Supra is 1 of my dream cars that I hope to own one day...

It has been on my list too. Ive just never paid attention to what can go wrong with them or what to look for when buying.

Thank you oscarsayco

Lovely cars - I'm waiting to find a written off aristo (same engine) and do a conversion on my daily drive gs300 sport :p

such a beast of a car! very jealous, I want one :)

Guy down the road from me drives one as a daily puttin out round 500bhp im told and as far as I know its reliable but I believe hes a mechanic so he cud be tinkerin with it alot to keep it on the road so its hard to know

These have been one of my favourite cars for years and have looked into them a lot. If your looking for a later one with the 6 speed gearbox then that is the one to go for. I've heard many horror stories about the earlier 5 speed boxes shitting themselves. They hae a tendency to blow head gaskets if you up the power with out swapping for a metal head gasket.

Looks like a clean, unmolested car.
They're very nice in white, TRD wing and you're golden.

you cannot own a supra and keep it stock power lol

2J has to be the best sounding engines.....ermm right behind VTEC that is :p

Great engines and gearboxes, capable of handling BIG power from the factory. A few simple breathing mods and a remap should see over 400bhp.

One of my all time dream cars - and realistically probably one I will own in the next 5 years. I would happily keep a minter virtually standard, down know about the US but in the UK they are starting to creep up in value, and I would image will double in price within the next 5-7 years.

Thanks guys, Ive been doing a ton of reading on the supra and I am very impressed.
Trigger has been pulled.
