In the United States the highest EK model we got was the Si, and that only came in coupe form. Our hatchbacks aren't even "EKs", they're "EJs". Only the Si came with a dual-cam (B16) and everything else for the hatchback model was a singlecam non-VTEC, so there was a quite a bit of work that had to be done to even get to your stock models. Anywho, here's a few of mine before it was stolen.

JDM second-gen B16A, '96-spec ITR suspension, '99-'00 Si front end conversion, CTR intake manifold, CTR cams, "whale *****" intake, Apex'i World Sport II exhaust, Air Conditioning, Si Power Windows & Locks swap, ITR black paint, JDM/OEM replica fog lights, OEM CTR tail lights, KYB AGX suspension, DIY sidemarkers, Spoon replica wing and mirrors, and a carbon-fiber CTR replica wing at one point.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. It was stolen from college last May ('09). I was aiming for a CTR 5lug conversion, CTR headlights, full suspension, and a B16B. My goal is to import an EK9 now. I'm assuming it's quite a bit harder for us to get it legalized than it is for the UK. Anywho, that's all. I know it's not an EK9, but it was gonna get as close to one as possible.

Oh yeah, I also had a '99-'00 Si gauge cluster, Skunk2 LCAs, and front and back EK4 SiR seats (came with the car) but not the door panels. The seats were comfortable and better than the lame cloth seats we get here so I kept them. I didn't really want to get the Recaros since they would be a little too flashy for the thieves, but I guess it didn't really matter.

It looked spotless , I feel it for you, after all the hard work was done just to see her gone. :(

Yeah. It literally was spotless. I always kept it clean. Your cars gotta look as good as it runs. It sucks to find out that full coverage insurance doesn't help as much as one would think.

That is absolutely lovely, gutted for you.

Out of interest, how loud was that exhaust?

The exhaust was pretty quiet. You can hear the engine pretty well. It sucked for me because my exhaust system was made for a D16 so I had to cut and re-angle the flange that connects to the header for my B16A. Overall it has a nice motor sound when you get high in the RPMs but it remains quiet at lower RPMs (with a nice low but not deep tone) to avoid attention from the cops, etc.
