Very tidy and original, Not many left like this. Stock JDM DC2 is a charming car.
thanks mate :D
honda spent millions designing them to be nearly perfect so i wont be going far away from that unless i have to but she wont be a bubbled baby

first things to do to the car was change all the fluids.
Motul engine oil,Hamp filter, oem MTF gear oil.New thermostat as the old one was changed and a nasty ass job was done, changed coolant aswell

now to future proof the car. i stripped off all the inner guards and removed the black sealer someone had put on. all the suspension was removed, wire brushed and painted satin black. the lower arms werent done as i want to changed the bushes soon . any rust was ground back and treated before sealing in white gravitex

arch liners were cleaned, detarred and treated before installing. calipers have been painted red since this pic and nicely finishes off the front end

when i bought the car it had a single din cd player in the dash just sat in , iv since bought a jap sony cd and cassette player . the car also had an SiR centre console and armrest so that will be going and the original Type R one will be taking its place . The drivers bolster has the usual wear so a new bolster has been ordered and a fitted seat cover too.

few bits done today. got the proper rear calipers and painted them up, took off the rear under brace and painted it in satin championship white. there was some dress up bolts in the engine bay so i got rid of the wing bolts ones and painted up oem bolts to replace them with

Very fresh DC2. I think this car was up at Japfest Mondello 2/3 years ago? I remember a very clean Dc2 and it was a Galway reg. It was for sale at the time aswell and had very little kms done.

So after owning this car now for 6 plus years iv decided to restore it. With the price of jap car parts going through the roof iv been hoarding parts when iv had money aside .

Plans for the car is an engine rebuild, for which I have nearly everything sourced and in mainly honda parts where can be got. Underbody is going back to bare metal and done properly , both sills need attention so I bought a DC1 shell that was rust free. Rear driver arch has minor rust but will be all cut out and fresh metal welded in.

All suspension components will get new bushes and bolts from honda where available, what cant be got new from honda will be reconditioned .

It won't be a complete oem restoration but won't be far off. I plan on having a carbon bonnet and splitter, a replica gen 2 mugen spoiler and maybe some other wheels.all can be easy swapped over if I choose .

So the start of the hard work was this week. Clean the car up after 3 years sitting in a shed.

Washed down and left with strong citrus prewash to soak twice. Rinsed down and 3 goes of sonax acti foam to remove what was left

Dried the car down with a leaf blower and got the rear lights and bumper off. Nice to see a previous owner had used silicone sealer around the rear lights instead of just getting new gaskets . FML

Used a knotted cup brush to remove all the paint on the rear panel . Took a long time but worth going back all the way
